So, in a period of ultra-organisedness (aided by my mum) I have packed. Mostly. By packed I mean wrapped all my pots and glasses in tea towels (even my Lincoln scarf was comandeered!!) and put pyjamas in an overnight bag. The majority of my 'nice' clothes are still on hangers all around the spare room.

I am still, desperately reading from the reading list, but there is no way I am going to have finished everything now. But on Tuesday...I'm so excited. I have the bare minimum of information from Lincoln about what actually happens on Freshers week, club nights and an afternoon at the boat club, but I'm still so so thrilled.

Does anyone go later than the 4th? I know friends of friends who are going on Sunday (tomorrow!!!!) but no one later than Tuesday. And most of my friends have already gone to their universities, only Durham appears to be holding off as long as us and even they go on Monday.

How is everyone feeling? Excited? Nervous?:colondollar:
My friend who's going to York is going on the 8th, I was surprised anywhere was later than us.

And to join in the box sets conversation, I'm taking my Mad Men, HIMYM and Star Wars box sets, and then an assortment of my favourite films.

STAR WARS. I'm seriously gutted our box set technically belongs to my sister I was contemplating bringing Star Wars monopoly...but though maybe it'd be going a bit far.

I totally agree with you about York, too. I know people going there, and I'd really hate to be in their situation and stuck at home for another week...

Everybody else is coming up now. I've been here for a week now. I'm surprised how boring the city actually is when one has nothing to do and no one to see.
What do you mean?! I'm never bored when I go there, and I've been going several times a month for about ten years. Have you not checked out the astrolabes?! I am only partly kidding. The astrolables rock.

In other, absolutely un-relevant news, I had a job interview and got an offer today! And I've been packed for 24 hours. But I DO NOT WANT to carry my bike up and down my local train station stairs tomorrow in the ridiculous heat. It's going to be 25 to 27 degrees! THE ****?! At least Oxford is flat.

On this subject, what about deliveries? For example, am I allowed to have a parcel delivered to college?
I'm allowed to have parcels delivered to my college (Univ) - I think that they go to our porter's lodge. It may be different for Wadham though so check when you get there.

I'm a nerdy computer scientist! Seriously, let's watch it and be friends!

I'm bringing loads of DVDs, including several Star Trek seasons, Big Bang Theory, superman films, Batman films, x men films, etc.

    (I like superheros)
    THE BIG BANG THEORYY OMG
    also star trek tos! <3

Seriously, lets! Id like that. After Freshers Week and all the crazy madness of that, we should meet up and do nerdy syfy (it has to be spelt after the truely dreadful Sky TV channel, its the law) things. Im odd, I haven't seen the big things like Star Trek or Star Wars or Firefly but I can damn near recite bits of Serenity. And I CAN recite whole chapters of The BBC Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy audio CDs. Im so cool
hitchhikers guide to the galaxy! that is equally amazing.

i definitely think you two should have nerd marathons, and can i come!? :ahee:

Star Wars  I'm taking A New Hope with me.
Boxset-wise I'm taking House season 3 and the Clint Eastwood collection (in case anyone else really likes westerns ) and then a bunch of really random films. I wanted to take Buffy the Vampire Slayer but I thought it might be a bit detrimental to my studying as I can never watch just one, plus I couldn't decide on which season to bring and taking all seven seems a bit impractical.

I think For a Few Dollars More is my favourite of the Dollars trilogy, with The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly following close behind.
I think I'd have to put The Good, the Bad and the Ugly first :yep:

I have one suitcase, one large holdall, one small holdall (for shoes and socks), and one crate for stationery so far. I think I'm nearly there - just teapots/plates etc., toiletries, electricals and towels to pack now.
