Is just "university village" not on there?

Nope, the only available options are "University village, …. House". There's co-called "Ash House", which I didn't find on the map, do you know if that could be it?

Hmm, I'm not sure! I would think they are separate buildings but it is possible it could have changed name... Looking on google maps there is no Ash, only Larch, but there is one block just called 'Block G' which could be Ash, and also the names aren't accurate there as Courtyard A and B have swapped!

Can anyone help - I have had a really horrible time with results and clearing; Basically I had UEA as my firm - needed ABB, however I only got BBC and went into clearing. In clearing I managed to secure myself a place of Politics with a foundation year at UEA. However since I went into clearing I did not hold my accommodation I had from when UEA was my firm and to make things worse in all the stress of clearing I accidently clicked that I would be staying at home whilst studying!

I have e-mailed the accommodation folk but I know it is unlikely I will get a place, does anyone have any suggestions or know a place where I can search for others I can rent with as I want to be renting with first years really.

Thanks - Jacob
Congratulations on getting a place at UEA

UEA has it's own service called home run. If they don't already suggest it I would ask them about it - you will need a password to access it, but once you do they have rooms to rent advertised as well as a message board where others will post looking for housemates etc. It's also worth contacting some letting agencies to see if they have any tenants who are looking for one extra person, however, bear in mind that some agents are better than others and many will charge you a fee (usually around £70 for students) - the people on the homerun list won't charge you a fee.

I put university village as my first choice but after reading some posts i have a few questions, do the rooms have wifi now? cos thats pretty important to me. Also i was wondering about the people ive seen some posts that say its mainly international students (which is fine) but that its really quiet and then some have said its really social so idk. Could someone give me an idea please.

I have no idea where the international thing came from - the village is usually similar to most of the other accommodations, in that you'll usually have 1-2 international students in each flat. When I was there it was roughly one American student and one student from a non-English speaking country.

It is usually very social. Obviously who is there changes year on year as with all the accommodations, but generally the village has a really nice community feel... people getting together to cook and share meals, hanging out watching films or sitting in the kitchen chatting or playing games. TBH all student accommodation is social, but the village is nice because once you're in your block you can easily walk between flats and just knock on the door and say hi. On our first day we visited 5 other flats and chatted to many other people outside. Usually people from across your 'block' of around 6 flats, and then from across your building, will all socialise with each other, so even if you don't get on with your flatmates as well or they aren't so social there should be plenty of people to make friends with

As for the wifi, it says here

https://www.uea.ac.uk/is/wireless

That 'Village Close' has full coverage, so I presume that's a yes! This is eduroam, which is a wifi network used by lots of unis across the UK (handy as it means when you visit a city with a city based uni you can often get free wifi!). I'm guessing they don't have a separate network for people living in residences...

Hi!
I recently got my accommodation offer for university village and, apparently, was allocated in "UV Larch". I decided to purchase a "Starter Pack" through UniKit, and the problem is, that when I try to check out my purchase, "University Village Larch" is not available in the halls of residence selection box. What do I do? Do I choose a random hall, or type the post code, which, as I understand, applies to the whole UV?
Thanks in advance,
Arina
I ived in Larch last year, I'd say just pick any building listed under UV the rooms are all the same

I figure this could be away of at least slightly getting to know potential future flat mates. I'll go first, I got into Britten House which was my first choice. What did everyone else get?

I was given an offer for a room in Britten House, which I simply can't afford, is there anyone that would like to trade for a place ideally in Norfolk Terrace for my Ensuite room. Also feel free to discuss other trading here

I am in this same situation as well, been offered Britten house and am after a place in Norfolk Terrace as well as I cannot afford the increase as this would leave me on about £25 a week to live on.

Hi! But how do I pick up my order if it's in the wrong house? Would be a pain in the arse to run around the village looking for it
P.S. how was it there?)
Thanks)

sorry i'll edit my post, you can phone and ask to be moved to another room in a hall with spaces so if you did find someone you could both call.
