Top Tip
When making notes, write them in your own words and summarise what you just read or heard. Make sure you have a subheading that stands out so you can identify each one easily. -

Top Tip
When making notes try to make a link between topics as well as having a clear structure. Try not to write everything but key aspects which will make you think when reading over them ensuring good revision. -

Although, my tip would be using the mindmapping system. I find it easier to create big categories then slowly stem them into finer details. Key words first, then add detail later. -

A little tip, if you pen starts to act up by being spotty/dotty use a scrap piece of paper and tap the nib and scribble. This should free up any dried ink stopping the little ball from moving freely.
Another option is to use this method and combine it with a slightly damp piece of tissue/toilet roll. -

If you're not the type to consolidate your notes, then Cornell style note-taking can be very useful! The methodology is that by summarising your notes, you're transferring them from short to long term memory.
If you do consolidate your notes anyway, then every half term bring up the syllabus and arrange your notes according to it: so you'd have the syllabus topic, the specific event or matter the syllabus wants you to know about, and then any relevant notes you have pertaining to it. This is also a really useful way to see what's missing from your notes! -
