...but you're missing the point. No one said the bit in bold.

Also you have to take into account the fact that rebuilding teams takes a lot of time and cannot be done in 1.5 (or less) seasons alone. LVG has slowly started the process of rebuilding the team so the argument of "he spent 250M and we aren't getting anywhere" doesn't really make sense. You can't expect a team that's in the middle of a rebuilding strategy to perform like champions.
How long should a manager receive to rebuild? How much can he spend before results are expected?

The Premier League is far more competitive than any other top league, but I'm struggling to see any other elite team accept results far under the clubs expectations for three years. I would love to see how another club as big as ours would react to the sort of results we've been seeing for this amount of time. In this current era of football.

I understand why you and others have issues with Mourinho, but there is nobody available more qualified to manage this team than him. Maybe he will be a failure, but who else is more likely to be a success?

I do agree with trapking in the sense that you could make certain changes or signings but not everything will work from day 1. Plenty of players who are signed one summer but don't really kick off till a year or two later. Look at Suarez when he first joined compared to his last season.

That said, some short term-ism is needed since if you don't have success today, you can't make more steps forwards tomorrow.

I'm a bit late but I just realised that Jones got injured in the U-21 match vs Norwich. Again.

This joke seriously needs to leave Man Utd. He may be okay-ish as a defender but there's no reason why we should be paying the wages of a barely acceptable player who spends an unacceptable time injured.

Fergie's comment on Jones has cursed him. Well, guess he'll have time to continue his social media branding work and videos with his dogs I guess..

An extensive interview with LVG in the Independent today - I think he knows the end is near even if he stumbles across the line to fourth which may not happen if other teams progress forward. Interview not different to what we know - good bloke, helped bring back discipline after the Moyes era, excellent to watch in his press conferences during his first year, but his philosophy hasn't worked, end of.

Even he knows Mourinho's coming in because he's now refusing to advocate Giggs as his replacement and he could have reiterated that to put some pressure on Woodward and ruin Jose's dream job but he seems resigned on what's coming. Giggs taking on his first management job, potentially at Swansea, would be interesting to see.

Since December 2011, for every 1.5 days Jones has been fit, he has spent one day injured.

He's a joke, we need to try and get him to string five good games together at the end of the season, hype him up and cash-in on the English factor. We could probably steal 10m for him.

Wish it would have worked out for the guy.

(Initial question was "Whose the best academy player you've seen?).

RIO: Ravel Morrison. Sir Alex Ferguson said 'come and have a look at this kid'. Me and Wazza [Wayne Rooney] walked out and there was an Under-15 or Under-16 game going on. Fergie said he was the best kid he'd ever seen, better than Giggsy or anyone. He was just playing the game as and when he wanted to play. He would slow it down, then speed it up. It tells you something that when they were 15, 16, 17, Paul Pogba and Adnan Januzaj used to look up to him and idolise him. This kid was the gospel. But he didn't have the mentality to cement himself in a team environment.

A Bola are reporting that Mourinho is trying to bring winger Rafa Silva to United, who Jorge Mendes owns 50% of his economic rights, and that negotiations are 'taking shape'; https://twitter.com/PortuBall/status/698471324956631041
