Completely didn't see how you had to find k on the circle one, did so much working which I knew had to be too much for a 3 mark question and I must have been missing something obvious. Unfortunately I didn't realise by the end of the exam (now know how simple it in fact was). However for the second part where you had to do the equation I just did it with using k in the equation and hopefully by showing I can construct the equation correctly I might be able to pick up 1 out of the 2 marks for that. We will see, a tough paper certainly.
I did the same. Usually it's one mark for putting your values into the formula for equation of a circle, so fingers crossed we would have 1 mark for that.

I don't know what I am allowed to say but the circle question was a lot easier than many people thought. I completely bombed a few questions, I thought the circle one was a godsend lol.

If you drew two triangles, you would have seen how simple it actually was.

3tanx=2sinx

3sinx/cosx = 2sinx

3sinx = 2 sinxcosx

3/2 = cosx

not sure if 2 and the 3 are the other way round but whatever

3sinx/cosx=2sinx

3/cosx=2

3=2cosx

cosx=3/2

Is it just me or did anyone find it extremely hard compared to other years?
I found it harder than past papers. Hoping the grade boundaries are low on this

ah ok, Thanks for providing this source. but won't this still give an unfair advantage?
I'm not sure :/ I saw someone say that since 2013, other countries do an international paper in which case discussion is fine. However that's not the case, then it could potentially allow people to come online and see what people are saying about the exam.
I personally used to be perfectly happy to wait until midnight, but if tsr want to change the rules, they can.

So annoyed with myself
do you think I would've got method mark(s) for rewriting tan as (Sinx\cosx) or were you not supposed to do that?
Also for the calculus on the last question.. did you get x=4?
I got that too ! Then I substituted to solve the equation.

was horrible compared to how I performed in past papers. Was getting full marks in past papers but today's paper wasn't too easy.

56-57 for an a

The penultimate one. Most people seem to have got x = 4 which would appear to be correct, and then the answer to part d) was 360 I believe.

I thought for part d all you had to say was d2y/dx2 is >0

Can anyone remember what the first trig question was?

I dont think it was majorly hard compared to past papers like C3 '13 but i suppose the boundaries won't be massively different between this and last years.

Maybe 60/61 for an A ?

Yes but I don't believe they give you full marks unless you calculate what it actually came out to, not sure.
