I don't wish to start any arguments but most people here are saying the paper was harder than others. You might have found it easy but the truth is that the majority of users on here, and in general from what I've seen/heard, found the exam reasonably challenging and labelling sections as "the easiest ones ever" is not helping. Implying that people found it difficult because they didn't sufficiently revise the vocab list is just needless and for the most part, probably untrue.

Also, 20 points? It's advisable to stick with 6 or so and develop them.

Overall I think that this exam was a lot better than previous ones.

The vocabulary in it was definitely on the list that we got given by AQA - apart from stuff like "ATRACO" but I deduced that it was actually "ROBO" because "ATRACO" sounds like attack which is why I put it.

Secondly, the grammar section was by far the easiest one there has been in the past papers. AQA intentionally try to slip you up - you have to read until the end of the sentence to fully understand. If your teacher failed to inform you that the imperfect subjunctive was to have been included in this exam - then they are severely mistaken - there is always a subjunctive question in Q9 as its one of things on the spec which differentiates it from GCSE. It is definitely "EL AGUA FRIA" because "AGUA" is feminine but "LA AGUA" would sound weird if pronounced this way because there's too many vowels in one row.

Thirdly, I thought that the listening exam was one of the easiest parts too - perhaps apart from Number 4 (Hugo y David) which perhaps threw me a little bit.

The reading was definitely the best one I've done - I thought it was simple and straight forward! You just had to make sure that you read the Q at least twice before attempting to do the questions and translate what you can from the stimulus to answer the question.

As for the essay, I did the one that least complicated my brain which was no.10 (Something along the lines of "COMO CONSEGUIR UNA VIDA MÁS LARGA) - there was just so much you could write and back it up with points. I planned 20 points for 20 content marks and managed to include all of them. What did everyone else do for this Q?

Also, I'm sure everyone did the best they could - perhaps the new vocabulary proved to be detrimental to some of you guys - but if you learnt the vocab list you should have been fine.

I hope everyone gets the results they deserve in August.

PS. RWL Exam counts for 70% of AS Level and SP Exam counts for 30% of AS Level.
What were your 20 content points? And how did you include them in the essay?

Couldn't agree more sometimes even the best people can underpeform for one reason or another, usually timing. I did find it more difficult than the usual ones but im sure aqa will respond accordingly to this by adjusting the grade boundaries etc..

As for the '20' points thing i almost had a panic attack when i read the other person's post cos i was there with like 4/5 and was thinking oh dear but im glad you have said what i thought which is that its better to have a smaller number of points and develop them further so you can add more detail and explain them further etc. to get a higher mark band for content, which for the most part is what will make/break the essay imo.

I only did intro, 4 points and conclusion, and this is what my teacher advised. I also only wrote 2 and a half pages. You're more than fine with 3

Exactly. I fail to see how almost everyone on here could say the paper was reasonably difficult if in reality, it was one of the easiest ones. Especially since TSR users tend to be aiming towards the higher grades (desperately trying not to generalise but yeah).

4/5 is fine, it's definitely better to develop than list. Of course you can bring in smaller points as part of your explanation, which could be a reason for the supposed 20 points, but definitely go for a small number of well thought out, well structured points

You should be fine! If 3/4 points lasted 3 pages, then you've clearly made an effort to develop and explain them which is what the examiners like.

If your A is high enough, yes. A B in the written paper is anything 98-112 UMS, so say you got 108, then you'd need 52/60 in the speaking, where 48 is the A boundary.

I answered the essay question about Que son las influencias positivas y negatives que los famosos tienen en los jóvenes? I found this one easier to do as I had previously done the same essay but talking about musicians specifically so I used similar points. Anyone did this essay?

I'm so worried about my essay. I spent so long deliberating over which one to do that my healthy lifestyle (live a long life one was so bad)..

My points for factors for long life were pretty much diet and food.
I just said diet needs to be balanced and healthy with sufficient amounts of meat, fruit, veg etc and then said about the importance of eating oranges or something cause they have vitamin c which helps your immunity and then talked about the 5 a day campaign which shows the importance of fruit for a healthy diet so you can live a long life...I'm so worried that my content won't be above about 11/12.
Also for what you should avoid I said alcohol because it damages your liver and hence you won't live a long life and talked about avoiding drugs because they cause lung cancer or some rubbish! I also said consumpcion instead of el consumo about 5 times!!! And I'm worried that'll affect content mark

I find the mark schemes so vague as well for writing in terms of the awarding of content marks

yeah exactly you can prepare the life out of an exam but a question or questions that are hard may come up and it just stumps you like :O

Who did question 10? If so how many points did you include? And which points
I did question 10! I could have written and planned it so much better and my points were dreadful.
For factors for a long life:
Healthy and balanced diet- sufficient amounts of meat/fish/protein/vitamins/minerals.
For example can be achieved by eating oranges (??) as they contain lots of vitamin c-which means you get less colds and flu-meaning you live a long life ?? (So vague I know)
For some reason I also talked about five a day campaign for example which suggests we should eat 5 portions therefore suggesting it helps us to live a long life

I talked about exercise and said something about stress causes obesity in some cases and sport can relieve stress so less obesity. ??!😭 Then talked about it can help your muscles and f you have arthritis and so prolongs life... Also mentioned that however if you have a serious injury sport isn't an option

    What you should avoid
I just mentioned vague things about alcohol because it damages your liver/smoking and drugs can cause problems such as brain damage and cancer or something...
