You seem shocked. They act like they're not but when I wanted to change my A-Levels, I get a look which meant 'that's not happening as long as you live here'. Plus with my degree choices they say I have the freedom to choose but I know my choices are limited
That sucks Hope it goes well for you

Really ****ting it for results. I need an A in Maths to get into my Further Maths class. How did anyone else that took the AQA Linear paper feel about it?

I am a bit shocked tbh

I mean my parents were pretty happy no matter what A Levels/GCSEs I picked.

Can you still do the degree you want to do with the A Levels your parents have chosen?
Well, I wanted to do neuroscience or law. But I was told it wasn't to their expectations. They want me to do Medicine and become a GP or something. Even though I've stated I'm more interested in becoming a Brain Surgeon

Thanks. I know if I don't get the grades I want at A-Level, I'll always resent them. But I don't have it in me to say No to them

    (Original post by snikutsmullac)
They probably only do it out of caring and wanting you to do well, even if it does seem controlling. But if you're not comfortable with it, say no! You can still have the frozen yoghurt, just re-freeze it!
You'd think they cared. But if they really did they'd support me in what I wanted to do. And I can't say no to them
That's a promise, is it? I'll be waiting for my youghurt. Preferrably mint flavour

Yeah I recognise the name from schools' rugby finals and that sort of stuff. What subject results are you waiting on?
Yeah we've been in the finals and semis a fair few times. I'm waiting on English lit, English language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Home Economics, History, Spanish and 1/2 course RE. What are you waiting on?

I think you'll be able to specialise in neurosurgery, plus by that time you'll have moved out and stuff.

So you do have more friends...
My parents have always dictated what I do. From my GCSE's to my A-Levels to what degree I do. You're lucky that your parents don't fuss about your results and highlight your failures infront of everyone

I was looking so forward to my frozen yoghurt
Don't let your parents make your decisions for you- they sound like control freaks to me.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Saying no is easier said than done. I'd rather not play out my problems anymore as it is likely other people have bigger problems than me right now. I'll just find a way around it

What is everyone planning to do if things don't go their way? Talk it out with your College/Teachers/Parents and try to find a solution or go home and sulk?

Talk to my teachers and try to find a solution after I've let my results sink in. I've had too much free time as it is and have already thought of numerous results which could go worng and how I could change my A-Level choices to accomodate them (crazy, I know)

You've clearly go too much time to think!

Which results are you most worried about?
For me i'm most worried about Maths, despite being a few off an A* in the January mocks i'm not overly confident of an A in the real thing

    I know
Mainly English Lit, History, Chem and Bio- I wanted atleast 1 A* in one of them. But that looks unlikely
I've already recieved 3 GCSE's (took them in Jan and Yr 10), so I'm only stressing over my remaining six thankfully

If you did quite well in the mocks and felt good after doing the exams, then hopefully that A grade is all yours. The June paper to me seemed harder than the Jan, so the grade boundaries should go lower and if you kept your mistakes to the minimun= a very happy person on results day

I'm sure you'll get at least 1 A*, if not maybe an A in all 4.

There were some January results I was shocked with and some I was rather unhappy with, such as a C in History(worst result ever).

I've been looking through the past few papers and the grade boundaries for those are quite low(about 115/175 for an A) and the exam I sat was on par, if not harder....

I expect mainly A's and B's from the rest, although I hope for an A* in Maths if the boundaries are lowered....

What time can we get results from? And how do we get them online?
