I find it strange that Inter seem to lack any sort of cohesion going forward. Tbh, they look a bit like Arsenal did earlier this season: the defence seem to be attempting to play a possessive game, and are consequently coming forward (securing a high line), but the offensive players look like they've been instructed to play a counter-attacking game for some reason; the midfielders thus lump the ball up front, Novara intercept, conduct a proper counter, and Inter are left scrambling to defend. Inter really need to sort the tactical gap between attack and defence out.
Inters problems seem to have a lot of different sources. First of all as you said they´re lacking cohesion, secondly their manager doesn´t seem to have a strategy, and most players are quite old which will put you in an akward position against young teams that achieve a lot trough fitness.

Penalty and red-card against Inter with five minutes to go...

    And converted. Poor Inter.

Well, yes. But they did get soundly beaten by a newly promoted team.

The Arsenal team do seem to be finding their feet, though, whereas Inter yesterday looked incredibly rubbish. They're not playing a team of inexperienced youngsters and players normally considered backup either; I thought it was a little frightening how mediocre players like Sneijder and Milito looked yesterday.

As bad as it might look on the scoreboard it´s still better than conceding 1 goal in 8 matches.

Badly. They lost their opening away game 4-3, drew their 2nd game 0-0 at home and now have been beaten 3-1 by Novara. Along with that, they have a 0-1 loss in the first champions league game to Trabzonspor at the San Siro.

    Do you mean 'scoring'?

No I meant conceding, because if you lose 0-8 you´ve only lost 3 points. Compare that to the number of points you could lose if you concede a goal in every game and therefore lose or draw that game.

Oh, right, you mean conceding one goal every game for eight games. Saying 'one goal in eight games' makes it sound like just one goal over the whole of the eight games.

Wow. That is indeed badly. I forgot about the 1-0 defeat to Trabzonspor, which was obviously a huge shock. Have they had much of a turnover of players over the summer?

    Who are Novara?

Newly promoted outfit who are in Serie A for the first time in a couple of generations.

Unsurprisingly Gasperini has been sacked this morning. Franco Baresi's brother is taking training instead.

Apparently, Gasperini is the only Inter coach to not win a game during their time at the club.
