About 1 week ago I claimed Jess Phillips was lying about receiving threats on Twitter, someone decided to document all the available tweets, Jess phillips then complained that Twitter of colluding with her abusers when Twitter responded to her complaints saying “We reviewed the content and determined that it was not in violation of the Twitter rules”. So unless Twitter decided to remove tweets that doesn't break the rules they are all there.

It is worth knowing that she talked about 5000 notifications this includes tweets to, replies, mentions, retweets, and likes.
    DM's are something else.

    https://github.com/HedleyPty/Jess-Ph...was-not-raped-

That is all the possible evidence around it includes 1342 tweets, when you consider the fact the original tweet received 61 retweets and 218 likes and Jess phillips' tweet received 119 retweets and 132 replies and a lot of replies that shows how few tweets there actually was.

If people still believe what she has said you have to ask yourself what would make you change your mind? Considering all available evidence contradicts what she has said and that to prove her point all it would take is a screenshot (she has shared screenshots before even when they don't show who they are talking about) you have to wonder why hasn't she now?

If you wonder what does she gain from this? Look at what she is campaigning to do and look at the support it received last week, that will answer the question.
FWIW I'm now probably on the fence, but I still believe her word is a powerful tool and should tend to be believed short of strong evidence against it (which this is not).

It is a powerful tool personally I think at times voices are too powerful when something like this gets national attention when there is nothing to back it up and all evidence (even if you don't think it is strong it is what's available) contradicts what is said and then it is still believed.

What would you class as 'strong evidence'? The only 'strong evidence' I can think of that could be available is proof something exists and she should have that readily available.

Another thing that suggests that there has been nothing is the fact that no arrests have been made a threat is a crime and it is simple for the police to find out who it is, people have been doxxed online within hours it has been 8 days since it started.

Just because there's an epistemic difficulty in finding proof doesn't mean we should relax our standards for proving a malicious allegation.

Perhaps a slightly personal question, but is there something we're missing here about you and Jess Phillips which means that you have been pursuing this. I'm just curious, not attacking you.

I just dislike her attitude when it was suggested that parliament discuss issues like male suicide, and this case here I saw develop and knew she would try to misrepresent it to gain support for her campaign and I think that is wrong, the truth is important and what has been reported has been untrue.

Unfortunately that is as far as it goes unfortunately despite our surnames being the same there is no long running family divide or anything I am almost certain we are not related if that is what you thought.

It's a fair question, if you are wondering why I posted it today I had just came across the link I provided earlier and decided to post it.

Nope, didn't really think about a family link - I was just curious, but I understand and support the reasons why you are posting about this issue.

Hilarious listening to the general secretary of the TUC being asked about EU immigration on the daily politics, are all these people stuck on the "it's the Tories and greedy employers" line to explain why it is that a significant increase in supply of cheap labour has no effect on the domestic unemployed and unskilled?

I actually do feel that one should be critical of champagne socialists. While there are no doubt many who simply genuinely caring and compassionate, there are also many who feel that they know best and talk down to the lower classes. We see for example in Labour that there is a set of champagne socialists who almost look down at the working classes and dismiss their concerns (i don't agree with them) as racist or bigoted. The notion that somebody who has never experienced poverty telling me what i should think would be quite grating.
To be fair those that say blaming immigrants is wrong are right. I see what you mean. However, the biggest issue in politics is that everyone wants to scapegoat everyone else.

Oxford Union debates seem to be of a slightly better quality (of speech and of speakers) than Cambridge Union ones.

I thought the student replying was actually rather good and Dan wasn't terrific in his rebuttal. He also stupidly argued that Hitler was a socialist... Which is laughable.
Dan's biggest mistake in that debate was that he didn't answer the question. He simply stated that socialism was bad, the debate was over whether it works, not whether it is good or bad.

Dan is certainly the best that the Brexit camp have to offer. He actually attempts to answer questions asked unlike Gove and Johnson and it isn't simply a careerist move like it is for the other two.

I also like how he's true to his principles and supports PR, unlike most right wing tories who argue the EU is undemocratic yet don't want a more democratic UK.

Had the leave campaign led with him, rather than Gove and Johnson (who'd been Pro EU until he realized it would help him become leader to oppose), they'd be in a better position.

The rebuttal is far better, actually answers the question of the debate.

I think there is a more general issue in that Twitter appear to react slowly to bullying or threats made. A simpler complaint form (such as here on TSR) would be one step.

Farage laughably bad on the 'debate'. Zero substance. Just pure, hollow sound-bites. Can see why even the leave campaign wanted him no where near the debates.

You're taking your time praising Cameron. I did quite enjoy that black girl almost crying when she was told she was wrong, surprised she didn't run away to a "safe space"

He didn't really answer a single question. It's a shame it wasn't blue-on-blue, as any post referendum policy will be dictated by the conservatives.
