 not sure if I said it was super competitive I wouldn't know. Though someone I knew got in via adjustment so I dunno.. maybe they just expect it to be undersubscribed? :iiam:

Doesn't mean the course is bad though  and the placement year is fab - I'm on mine at the moment.
Nah you didn't say it was super competitive, just every teacher of mine at school

The course is great and the placement year makes it even better, that's why I'm so shocked!

    Where are you on placement?

If any of you have any advice on how to tolerate a job you love that's being ruined by colleagues you hate for next year, I'd really appreciate it

    Posted from TSR Mobile
    1) Observe them and discover their weakness, then pounce
    2) Set up situations so theyre always in a room with your boss, then make sure your boss over hears your suspicions of them getting closer than colleagues somehow- the colleague will be dismissed
    3) Eat their lunch in the fridge and claim to be on a no carb diet so it cant possibly be you
    4) Talk about your plans after the job and how great itll be to get out of this poophole- makes them sad bc theyre not going anywhere LOL AT U
    5) Tell difficult customers to talk to the specialist and point them at the mean coworker
    6) (guilty of this) rub out their name on the rotor at the end of the month- they miss out on pay and argue with the boss and end up being hated or sacked/quit

OR what I do now is just laugh it off. You're on your way to an amazing career and success and this is temporary to get money for the big wide world. You'll meet tonnes of people just like this idiot in the workplace so treat it as a funny story and experience! If they're bullying you then I know other revengeful ways bc that is just sick and twisted and bullies need to be hurt v bad

:dontknow: people often exaggerate things

I work for 'a leading supermarket' at their head office in London, a lot of it is to do with coding and analyitcs. Flies by as well, I just finished week 10 out of 52 and I'm wondering where the time goes. Though most of the people on placements I know are in finance / accounting firms.

Thank you, this made me laugh. I keep telling myself it's only one more year, it's not forever, so fingers crossed I can power through!

I'm currently editing my Personal statement, too. Sent another draft to my teacher, so she'll hopefully come back on Monday and help me to improve it!
Although, I need to edit it down by about 500 characters, but I also need to add that I've got some work experience arranged for the future...
It is pretty awful, though, so I won't be surprised if I need to change it all

Sorry I havent been active much. Disaster struck on Wednesday - I turned my phone on and it just froze!! Many attempts to restart the phone failed, so Ive been using my brothers old phone for a bit. It wont let me download TSR on it for some silly reason!

I began Year 13 officially last Thursday, which is crazy. Personally, I'm enjoying it much more than Year 12. I get a new timetable tomorrow, which will tell me when my guided study is. Hopefully I have home study tomorrow afternoon.....

How did you guys find your first day back in year 13? I start tomorrow and i'm kind of nervous but idk why.
I also cba for an assembly at 8:30 am followed by an hour of tutor time :unimpressed:
Sixth form have also messed up my timetable and I'm part of two maths classes and two physics classes... I guess i'll find out which ones I'm actually a part of tomorrow. I'm hoping that I'm in the physics class that has a double on Monday morning and no more lessons for the whole day. The other class has a double in the afternoon which means i'll be waiting around all morning. Lol first world problems.

Still waiting for my tutor to get back to me about my personal statement... I've done 4 drafts so far and she says it's good. Hopefully if I get some more feedback by tonight or tomorrow I could be working on my final draft this week!
She's also started my reference and asked me to make a list of things I want her to include - not sure what to send off?

hmmm well update on life since i can and since no-one is obliged to read it anyway

finding things quite difficult atm and tbh idek why.
    Well i do
but the reason may sound arrogant
so if it does i apologise.

Doing very well at one of my subjects in particular due to the tonne of work i did for it over the summer. In comparison my other 2 subjects dont seem as good even tho ik logically they are but ive set this impossibly high standard for them and it's only been 3 days and the teachers are already telling me to chill out but idk how to bc the ideas for the projects are always in my head.

Thankfully A2 history looks easier than AS as the examination style seems easier there is just more to remember bc linear.

also does anyone else feel like they have acquired another subject AKA personal statement/university studies :/
thankfully most of that is already done but why is everyone magically an expert on things they acc know nothing about :nothing:

'do this Cavy', 'Dont go there Cavy it isn't prestigious enough', 'You waste yourself Cavy cos u could do anything and u want to do a creative subject at uni'

can u all kindly back off

did i ask for ur opinion on my life.
unless u are sufficiently qualified to do so stop bloody commenting bc u are all gonna make me have a nervous breakdown due to my self doubt.

hope everyone is well fellow 13eeners

if you WANT do a creative subject at uni, dont let anyone put you off. ok I know creative subjects tend to have a bad reputation. Some people don't understand that things change, especially through developments in technology, so it still has a scientific side to it.

Luckily my school/family are really supportive of me, as they know that what I want to do will enable me to use my strengths to the best of my ability.

Youll be great at whatever you do go for it!

    Thank you
I do try not to it is just bc the school i go to is very high pressure so it wants stuff like doctors and lawyers and stuff and then the pupils are quite snobby really about it cos they are all apparently going to do medicine and get into Oxbridge. And this website is equally snobby which i find ironic really as i would like to do design and who do they think designs all their iphones and gadgets that they are inseparable from
awwwww im glad to hear that :cube: my mum is very supportive so that is something, just have to block everyone else out with their bloody superiority complex.
Thank you, good luck to you too :lovehug: x

    With tears.

Just joking, I'll probably just keep reviewing the stuff frequently throughout the year. My only linear one for this year is Lit, so I'll just re-read the books/plays and review my notes periodically.

Started on Wednesday but went in on Monday to get timetable - which is alright ish lol.

It was nice to finally see everyone! I've been studying this weekend to try and get ahead so in lesson it feels more like revision
