Thoughts on Boris standing for election as an MP next year?
Glad. While its hard to get his true views he does appear socially liberal and while Blair 2.0 in his populism he's at least somebody with the power to engage people.

Plus, it was looking like May vs Osbourne post Cameron and I'd have to consider my membership if May won.

I want him to come back and kick out the current toe-the-party-line ****wit here. Anyway, back into reality, I think it could be a good thing for the party, but he wouldn't get my vote. His personality is too managed and fake, and comes across as distinctly sinister to me, that is before you consider his very unappealing conservative values (as disclosed before he had an army of spinners).

P.S. If Cameron has to resign my preferable time would be around 2017-19. That would give Sajid Javid, Penny Mourdaunt and Rob Wilson enough time to consider running and get enough support.

Which are the unappealing values?

I wanted Gove or Hague above anybody else but one is going and the other is speculated to run as Osbourne's chancellor.

In the past he has shown a strong leaning towards unappealing conservative values.

Hague is one of the politicians that I like as a person, shame to see him leave. But then again he will be very prominent in the next 9 months.

Well you have to take everything he says as tongue in cheek, but comments in particular about Gay Marriage and Islam were not exactly productive.

However that isn't the main thing for me, it's how he comes across to me, Machiavellian and fake.

Who's up for formalised Leadership debates before the MHoC general election?

There was even talk about DL debates before nebelbon's departure kinda buried it.

*And in the case of the Socialist Party: 'commissars'

I'd be up for that. If I remember correctly I suggested a Skype debate so we could have it in real time. Only problem is getting a time when everybody will be able to do it

That would be very interesting (if a tad complicated) - so you'd record it for us?

I know right, if not I was thinking through just normal text chat. (It'd also be cool to hear everybody speak) and no I don't have the device to do that (I'm banking that as Speaker Faland will)

If you give enough notice and specify a time then you could just do it in thread. I remember when we released Jarred's budget we tried to build it up and specified when it was released. As a i recall there were quite a few online for it even if they could have commented anytime.

I don't think it'd be too complicated (to record that is - organisation probably will be hell). Audacity or SRPro to record it and then up it one Youtube in ridiculously low quality lol

That is indeed true. However it'd be nice to somehow guarantee the individuals actually responded to each other's points in a structured way. I guess that would be up to Faland to work out.

I'll leave it to the Leader's to decide. Ultimately (if we're following the RL convention) the Prime Minister will decide wether to hold a proper debate. It'll be more to 'rally the troops' I imagine.

If the debate became more about individuals then at least it would help tackle concerns that the elections become too much about RL party affiliation rather than the achievements and competence of the 7 TSR parties.

The big problem is that only the 100 or so voters actually know what goes on in the Mhoc and 50 of those are loyal party members. To the 100 that read manifestos and then everybody above that who votes based on RL, the leadership debates will be meaningless.

Hence my general support for the abolition of the mass PM.

You can do the tech thinking I have literally no idea ahaha

I really like this idea however, and would be happy to promote it.
