If you want to change your vote, and this goes for anyone; please send me a PM stating who you originally voted for, and also who you wish to change your vote to. I will then keep a record of all of the changes I receive and amend the vote totals when the poll has closed in one final sweep.
    Nice!
    Will send a PM.

I don't agree with this at all, you should ask those running if they wish to see an extension and I got no PM asking me about it thus I am against it. You cannot change the rules of the game halfway through.
I felt we needed to have an extension in place before the PM was sent to actually make sure there's a real reason for it going out. I felt that maybe the request would have been denied if there was only a day left; why would an admin go through all that work if it's only for a day? So I knew there needed to be some kind of extension, but it needed to be done in short time, so with regret, I had no time to do a full consultation on the matter.

I'd be expecting a large swing from the Tories to Ukip and Labour now however the link below is interesting for the right.

    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=2275748

I actually think that some moderators can see the poll so we may be able to find out afterward.

I know the mass PM has already gone out however if you can see the result thus far would you be able to screenshot it so we can compare the swing from soon after the mass PM to afterward?
I can see the poll results myself. I can kind of remember a couple from before the PM was sent.

Naturally, I can't release the results of the votes right now, but I will keep a record of them (privately on my own machine) and then maybe release them when the result is known for a bit of post election analysis. I don't make any promises however in case something makes me realise that it's a bad idea to release "unfinished" results.

To me this shows dictatorship qualities, you are the speaker and should not aim to wield some kind of power. This also reminds me of the Amendment to which I supported and yet you took my name off the seconders just because you cannot comprehend what I wrote to you in the PM. Overall I am not happy with your ethics as of late.

The election length is only specified in the Guidance Document, iirc, and the Guidance Document, unlike the Constitution, can be overruled by the Speaker at their discretion. Jarred's within his rights.

There's nothing on the contrary in the Constitution or Guidance Document, so I'm willing to allow it.

Are you able to see the actual poll breakdown as in who voted for who? I know we can't and if you can't either then surely there's room for exploitation there?

Ah, **** it I'm voting Socialist. In real life I wouldn't vote but an opportunity to annoy right-winged people is something I just can't pass up.

Hopefully voters will recognise that we're completely independent of the RL party and having a logo that is clearly eye-catching will hopefully direct people to our manifesto and strong policies.

I think it's important we have reasserted our support for liberalism instead of trying to balance social democratic policies in addition.

The HOC has three parties sharing various social democratic policies but was lacking one defending liberalism, so I think the Liberal Party now stands for something solid rather than the often confused platform of the Lib Dems.
Sorry this is late. Is this an admission amongst the Liberal Party, that Social Democracy, is no longer an important or dare it be said, a non-issue?

You talk of the confused platform between your party and the Liberal Democrats. Isn't it a platform your party ruthlessly sought to exploit between 2005 and 2010 is it not?

If you are a genuine Liberal in your belief do you believe that such a party should hold the view that other parties should be forced to change their names?

As Speaker it is my job to run the House. I don't intend to run the place with an iron fist and I don't think I ever have: but it is my job to make rulings by following the path as set out in our founding documents, and when the constitution doesn't specify a course of action, I have to come up with that course of action myself. Sometimes that means making decisions off the cuff. I'm sorry, but what else could I really do, I had a matter of hours to get something done? So I made the decision and I stand by it.

    As for that other matter:
You made it clear you were unhappy with something in the amendment.
I wanted to know specifically what was troubling you, but you didn't reply. This was the second time you had ignored my PMs in that two day period.
I need to know the result of the amendment asap as it directly affected this election which was coming very soon.
I got someone else to second it; you weren't happy with what I sent, you didn't specify why when I asked politely, so I took it as you not being willing to second it anymore.

I'm sorry I couldn't work out what you meant, but I did ask and you didn't reply.

I can't see who voted for who no, but in the past, whilst TCIT was Deputy Speaker he was involved in editing the polls when people encountered the negative reputation glitch; so it's not very different from that. But I understand your concerns. For this reason, I'll involve the Deputy Speaker too.

If you want to change your vote (and again this goes for everyone), might I request that you PM both myself and the Deputy Speaker; toronto353, with who you voted for before and who you want it changed to.

This way both myself and the Deputy Speaker can keep a record of things separately and before the edit is made at the end, we can verify that we both have the same numbers and keep each other from abusing the results.

    Fine whatever.

As for me not replying, I was astounded that you cannot comprehend what I had written, it was obvious from the quote I had left and what I said that I didn't agree with that part but the rest was fine, I don't reply to people that cannot understand plain English, if this was the business world and you kept asking what X meant, I would fire you and I know others that would do the same.

And may I suggest that you edit out, or modify, this part of post #488, so that there can be no confusion? I can imagine that there might be someone who sees that post and not this one, and only messages one of you.

Mental health issues are always difficult, but unless they are a danger to themselves or others (see the cut4bieber retards) then they should be left to it.

He's acted within his powers and in my opinion, has taken a perfectly reasonable course of action. If you're unhappy, a VONC is the course to take, though I will not be voting to remove the speaker.

I'm not going to VONC him, I am not a certain other former member that likes to VONC everyone for the sake of it, I was simply displaying my displeasure.

Thanks for this anyway. If we don't come up with any problems it might be an idea to collect this sort of data in future elections to see how effective mass PMs are in getting voters in, and to what extent the RL named parties do or do not benefit from the votes of those less well connected to the house.
