Hmm although having a look at that spreadsheet again, it seems they have started putting A LOT of emphasis on predicted grades this year. There are a lot of A*A*A*s and A*A*As predicted for those with interviews. So potentially predicted grades are now above BMAT in their selection criteria?

I just find it really weird they've changed it so suddenly and without telling us this year. And the introduction of a Band 4?!?!?
But everyone knows Imperial is a good medical uni- so I doubt those without good grades would apply? The BMAT averages have supposedly fallen this year according to the graphs on the BMAT results sheet.
    IDK what is going on.

EDIT: Just looked at the previous document. If they interview 69% of Band 2 (I was in Band 2) and 59% of Band 3, does that mean more people have interviews than previous years or just more people did worse in BMAT this year than last year, so interview numbers will still stay the same?
There was a band 4 in 2010 as well so they hav had this vand but i think it was called the WP band. They just called it band 4 here for some reason...

yh but rarely anyone has 6 a levels with 3A*3A's so i guess imperial couldn't resist haha.

Yh i noticed that as well, re bmat avgs falling.

i think more people did worse so it sounds like a lot but they probably hav approx the same number of interviewes handed out, i think they mentioned on their website and in emails (i think) about the 650 interviews so i dont think thatll change. It could be like 10% of 500 people that got band 2 with an interview or 50% of 100 people that managed to get an interview with band 2. Its the same 50 but just higher % as fewer people got the band 2 hence less stronger applicants, if u see what i mean.

Yh i saw that too, but maybe that just goes with wt u said i.e. applicants that apply are very academically able anyways. Cant really judge from this yrs only as it may have been the case with previous yrs too i.e. high predicted grades of offer holders. But it defo looks like it plays a role.

Guys do you think Imperial have given out all of the interviews now? I still haven't heard if I got rejected or got an interview. I got 5.1,5.1 and 2A in my BMAT so maybe that's why I haven't received the interview yet. Do you know anyone who has got a 2 in section 3 and still got an interview? Thanks.

I really have no idea. I never knew there was a band 4. Do you know the cut off for this band and how many people get interviewed from this band?

No idea at all. But this band 4 has given me a ray of hope.Nobody with 2A sec 3 have got interview on this thread so far. Also majority of the interviews already has been handed out. Remaining few will be sent in the new yr.

Yo man, the table i posted earlier has a band 4, the % of people that were interviewed from this band is provided next to the band in the same table (have a quick look again) but i think it was 7%. The band 4 has been around since 2010 at least as I saw an FOI request that someone made in 2010 and imperial provided them with the table but this table contained the WP band instead of band 4. So they pretty much just changed the name, WP stands for Widening Participation btw.

    This is really annoying!!!
I don't have any idea why Imperial just decided to ignore me.
I have seen people with BMAT scores lower than me and getting interviews. This is really frustrating My BMAT score is 4.9, 6.6 and 4A. I already have 4 A* at Alevel, still doing Alevel physics (5 Alevels in total), B in AS English Lit, 9 A*s and 2 As at GCSEs.
I just don't know why they decided to ignore my application Why didn't they even give me an interview!
