I'm in almost the exact same situation as you are (except I'm Norwegian)....Don't think it's unusual for LSE to take their time though, so I wouldn't stress it too much...
except that you will pay 4 times the amount of money a EU student is paying...

What the hell? I haven't been rejected by Oxford and UCL? How on earth could you speculate that I got rejections from both of them? Getting a rejection from the Oxford does not necessarily mean that I have lower chances at other places; I got rejected by Oxford as I had a serious headache on the TSA day and hence messed up on the essay bit. That was the end of it.
I would like to advise you seriously not to make any groundless assumptions.
Why is it that so many Oxbridge rejects get mysterious aches and pains during their interviews and other assessments?

My friend who is currently at LSE was an Oxbridge candidate (applied before 15th October) and recieved his offer in March.

So to all of you oxbridge candidates, you may recieve an offer that late.

I read somewhere about the ratio of offers per place but I cant find it anymore, the following is taken from the LSE site

The School allocates places separately for EU and non-EU students to programmes
within departments. Each programme has a target for registrations and a target for
offers. The offer target is higher than the registration target, as we assume that some
offer-holders will fail to meet the conditions of their offer and that a number will
choose to accept offers at other universities.

correct me if im wrong but i think its 3:1
well I guess it can't be that high. Anyway the higher the ratio, the better chance we have.

On average, yes, but it differs greatly from subject to subject. I saw the statistics for the number of offers given out vs. the number of people they intended to take, but I can't seem to find that any more. For Economics though, they won't give out as many offers per place as some other courses.
my point exactly.

Has anyone heard if there's a gathered pile for International Relations?
Hopefully the demand isn't that high and there's no need for one.
Hopefully I survive this Friday and live to fight another day.
Hopefully I get my offer damn soon.

That's a lot of hope...

Hate to burst your bubble, but are you joking? International Relations is one of the most competitive courses at LSE, perhaps second only after straight Economics. Someone on here quoted that only 3% of applicants are successful!

I think some people have gotten the gathered pile for IR, one of the people on here has made a thread for the gathered pile e-mail which lists who on TSR has an e-mail for each subject.

Good luck!
