    Hello :hello:

Why do you keep buying crap laptops that have all these problems? When I buy something I always read the reviews online to see how good the products is before buying it.

The HP is a good laptop though - I had to really push it to get it into the 70's C. That was when we were having the frantic dash to the 10k.
Normally it idles in the 30's C and doesn't usually go much above 50-60'C.

The HP will shut down at 100'C - it'll never get that hot!

I know HP is a good laptop I have one aswell then why don't you use that instead of that acer aspire? just get rid of it if it's causing you all these issues.

I also noticed you reply/post quicker when using the HP.

My friend has also got a HP and they have had theirs for 3 years - they've found their HP laptop to be good and reliable

The Acer Aspire is going soon, all I need to do is manually download and install all my programs onto it

Yep, I was replying a lot quicker - yes, the TSR site was using a lot of CPU (it always does) but the laptop wasn't being limited by CPU throttling, due to heat issues. Perfect

Only thing was that, due to the time left before thread closure, I forgot to use mains so ended up doing some pretty intensive stuff on battery - which seems to have lost 4% of the designed capacity of the battery! Oh well... it's still got a decent battery life, and in 3 years time the battery will be fully depleted and will need replacing anyway!

Oh dear, that's quite chilly if you're almost getting frostbite...
Hope your diet plan goes well

I'm good thanks, done a few bits around the house and general tidying (it needed it!) and a couple of eBay listings
