He did take me seriously, he is going to write to my GP and psychiatrist about it and thinks that I should increase my Sertaline to 100mg as it is not working at 50mg (been on it for 3 weeks though).

Things don't seem good because I'm spending significant amounts of days in bed and stuff, and finding it hard to sleep at night :erm: also problems at home, more arguments now that the holidays have started.

How are you two? I haven't really posted for over a week! :ninja:

Personally I'd say 3 weeks isn't long enough to be able to tell whether or not the dosage you're on is working? But I'm not a qualified health professional and don't know all your circumstances, so they're definitely in a better position to say whether or not it's having an effect or not. Hopefully the upped dose will help though  Okay, so that definitely something you could change? You could try and proactively get out of bed and you talked about getting/having a gym membership? Could you not try and go there more often? It'd mean you're out of bed and out of your house for at least part of the day if the arguments at home are having an negative effect? Plus exercise is like proven to be for our wellbeing; so it'd be effectively be killing three birds with one stone?

Me? Uh. I'm just longing for university to start so I'm nowhere near as isolated as I am at the moment. It's not doing me any good. I'm out quite abit this month though for various reasons which should hopefully mean August is easier than July to cope with It would have been much harder to deal without the said person being in my life and she knows who she is and will probably read this post

Officially moved house! :woo: Will be potentially internetless for a while, so please excuse any late replies (later than usual that is ).

:console: I hate it when house hunting gets stressful. Good luck on finding a place - there'll be somewhere out there right for you!

Thanks. Its less about somewhere that suits me as just somewhere There are few places available and they vanish as soon as the adverts go online. Looking like it might be a cardboard box for next semester but it'll be ok i'll decorate it and make it pretty.

How's the house (minus the horror of internetlessness, no internet was actually the sole reason I went home the other week :teehee:)?

    (Original post by superwolf)
Yeah I mean it! If you want a definite timescale, then I'd say the earliest I can do is September, but I should be free all that month apart from camping. Tragically I have yet to discover my wizardly powers, but I'll do my best to reassure you when you need it, fend off interlopers, and interpret our strange Scottish ways for you.

Do you want me to get the train down to your place and then we'll travel up the whole way together? Let me know and I'll start looking into tickets. Also shall I see if we can both stay with my parents, or do you want to get a hostel/hotel alone or with me?
Oh, so you really mean it? You realise this would involve meeting me For Real in Real Life? I only just realised. You really wanna help me make plans? Do not understand why you're being so kind.

While a door-to-door escort service would be lovely, I can't possibly ask you to come all the way down here just to go back up again. Just the price for one thing (I just looked at tickets and oh my god trains are expensive). I could probably make it to Manchester. maybe. I mean it's only one train from London. I think I will have to go beg for benzos from the doc. And I definitely don't want to stay with your parents or drag you away from them (im sure they're lovely, but I dont wanna intrude and it's your family etc), I'll take a look at what sort of accommodation there is.

:hugs: Feeling in a similar position. My BMI is goddamn perfect, but I still dislike not being unreasonably skinny.
    :hugs:

I think i'm generally fine with not being skinny anymore (bones=frail, plus generally people involvement) but I don't like not being skinny and not being fit either. I feel very undisciplined and lazy. I actually really miss exercising and being fit and healthy and strong. I can only barely make it to 3 push ups atm  And not just strong body, you have to be properly strong-willed to push yourself and that plus physical exertion is quite.. I can't quite find the word .. empowering?

Obvious answer is just to start exercising again. You do make lots of improvements quickly when you're starting from nothing so would be quite gratifying. I just... can't. I don't really know why. I mean I can't exercise outside because Outside and I can't stomach the gym. Have been sort of doing some body-weight exercises but I mostly can't find the motivation to even get out of bed so is difficult to do anything consistently. So many excuses.

Hmmm I think this isn't really a body problem, more a Sultana finds another way to hate herself for being ill problem.

Chrisofsmeg, I think he was called.

    ---

Have had some really traumatic news, which isn't what either of us needed. Had some support from the university mental health coordinator. Everything is a bit of a mess and I can't write anymore, but if anyone could send positive thoughts this way they would be much appreciated. Might not be able to post anymore for a while but will do if I can. Things are really **** but we are both safe.
:jumphug: I hope you're both okay, and you know where I am :hugs:

Just thought I'd quickly mention that if you're getting a train from London to Manchester it's much much cheaper to book in advance. I've managed to get a return ticket for under £20 before now.

Thanks for the advice mate. What would it involve to get someone sectioned? And can you recommend any numbers or support groups at all?

It's impossible to get any sort of conversation out of Brother 1 now, you could ask him if he wants to go to the hospital and he wouldn't understand at all.

    (Original post by Kindred)
    .
    Cheers mate.

As said above I don't think how brother 1 feels is easy to determine. Anywhere he goes he would probably have to be dragged there, you can't just ask him because he won't understand. He's oblivious to what's going on around him, I think.

Agree with TLG, definitely wouldn't advise it.

Escitalopram can make you get drunk quicker so be wary of that if you do want to drink.

You have us! Glad you posted - the worst thing when you feel alone is to continue to sit feeling alone :hugs:

I know what you mean. I've decided all my secondary school friends hate me. Plus I really need a girlfriend too :p:

Being in a situation where I should be happy seems to just make me cry now. And then I feel guilty for crying so I feel worse and that makes me cry even more which makes me feel more guilty, which makes me feel worse (and so on...). Thanks brain. One of those days again. :sigh:
