Oh I haven't had mine yet but have one on the 21st. What was it like? How did you think it went? How many people were there? I still need to choose a book for the presentation :s-smilie: I hope you receive an offer from them  Is Reading your first choice?

Good luck! There were about 16 people there and we were in small groups of 3 or 4. To be honest, I found it a lot more challenging than my other interview just because the interview was longer (20-30 minutes) and because of a few family things that were happening at the time I didn't prepare as well as I could have :s-smilie: So as long as you prepare well then you'll be fine! The literacy test was pretty informal too  The books in our group were completely different! Thank you! I'm in Reading at the moment so it'd be nice to stay here  Is it your first choice? x

Ah okay, not too many people then
Oh okay, my last interview was nearly 20 minutes so that's not too bad
Yeah bit worried about the literacy test (my spelling is shocking!!)
Ah okay, do you think it's okay to pick one aimed at quite young children like year 1/2 or did they seem to prefer books aimed at older children?
Ah cool, do you like Reading? I don't think I've ever been - well certainly not recently.
Err no, I have an offer from Cambridge which I think is my first choice. However, my offer from Cambridge is in Early Primary, which is great but I'm super interested in SEN and I know you can do SEN as a specialism at Reading. Did they talk about the specialisms at all...?

Hi, did you accept your offer for BGU? I accepted mine but haven't received any confirmation through the post, I have only received the box full of things from them. x

I did accept I got a box and a confirmation letter I think x

Yeah
Thank you! I've been doing the practice tests tonight and seem to be passing - but not particularly highly - just need to keep practicing the spelling and punctuation! I have always been much worse at English than maths though so just keeping my fingers crossed
That is really weird :s-smilie: Maybe just contact them to check about it? I assume they will want a 2:1? I thought a 2:2 was a government requirement, so I don't think they can give out offers with no degree grade conditions...? Would be nice though!
No not yet - it's a week Friday (the 21st) - I'm a bit worried about it being so far away as the letter said to accept as soon as possible and I'm worried about college places going :s-smilie: I also expect that as soon as I leave Reading I'll decide I definitely want to go to Cambridge and be annoyed I even went to the Reading interview! But, I think it will be useful experience anyway and want to see what the university and course are like :s-smilie:

Oh I'm sure you'll be fine, remember you just need to pass anyway so it's okay if you mess up on a few questions :-)
Yeah it is strange, I'm on track to get at least a 2:1 anyway so I'm not too worried about it.
It is a tricky one, but I think you're making the right decision in still going to the interview, you may regret it otherwise, and as you said, it's all good experience :-)

I'm not sure if I got the letter or not. What conditions of offer are there? That's what I'm confused about. It says that once you've accepted an offer you'll be emailed about a document checking day but I've not had that or anything x

Thats why i accepted so quickly, i was originally going to go to MMU but i fell in love with Chester and my interview at MMU wasn't until the end of the month and i didnt want to risk Chester getting full.

Im passing them online, its mainly the punctuation section on the English i'm finding hard. Ill probably do them in about a month and a half or so, i'm so happy i have until July though, so many of my friends were given 6 weeks to pass!

I did Psychology at MMU for my degree, was ok. You must be snowed under with your dissertation  good luck with it all. 3rd year goes so quickly. x

I got offered a place at MMU but Chester was always my first choice. I loved my interview day aswell, so that just confirmed it for me!

You will be absolutely fine! I found the literacy harder than the maths but I think that was just down to personal preference. Yeah we are so lucky to have that long, I think the majority of uni's ask for it to be done within 6 weeks!

That's where I am at the moment, MMU Cheshire. Yeah it is absolutely flying, I'm just working as hard as I can now to ensure I get the best marks possible! Fingers crossed I'll be ok!

Just sent my PGCE Computer Science application to KCL, IOE and Brunel. I'm way past the January deadline, but all have vacancies. Fingers crossed.

At least we will both know of one person on the course now, we go on some trip to "bond"so it seems they care about their students quite a lot haha. did you get your letter from the University? I got mine through the post A few days ago. How exciting

They mentioned that at the interview but I haven't had any more information about it! Is that what your letter was about? I've had nothing since I confirmed my place apart from a letter from UCAS!
For anyone that's been accepted onto a PGCE MFL course but must do a SKE course prior - can this just be at any language school or must it be at a university and be an official SKE? I've been accepted to MMU and they said they just need to see a letter from the institution to say I've completed one.

I have to do a SKE for my MFL pgce and it has to be an officially recognized SKE at a uni. I also asked about the language school option but they said that there is no way they could check the content and quality of the tution and that's why only true ske's are accepted. But talk to your uni, they should work with you to find the best course, plus it's government funded. I am also doing mine online for example.

Yes it is. There are a few unis that offer online, semi- online e.g. canterbury. Mine is all online and is with HCUK.

I've just firmed my offer for the PG Dip Ed Secondary Maths at University of Birmingham and wondered if anyone else has? If so, have you received the offer booklet mentioned in the offer details on ucas?

Hi  It's great to have found someone else on the course! Same for me really, ucas updated on Friday, exactly a week after the email. Have you had any other emails from them?
Offer from St Mary's for the Primary PGCE  Undecided whether to accept Roehampton or St Mary's! Any advice?

Does anyone have an interview at UCB University College Birmingham?

I have applied a couple of days ago through track 2 (I withdrew from my apply 1 options because its too far for me to move and my circumstances have changed) I spoke to them over the phone and after having spoken to many universities, was very pleasantly surprised with how helpful and friendly they all seemed. Fingers crossed anyway...
