Reuben Walsh, a second-year from Teddy Hall who attended the event, reflected that it was a “very educational experience” for those with “little or no knowledge of the sex industry”. He described the talk as “helpful in releasing us from the insular Oxford privilege, a position from which it is very easy to become patronising or even condemnatory toward aspects of the industry.”

    :lolwut:

I'm sorry, but there are many, many aspects of the sex industry that deserve to be criticised. One french chap who finds that kind of work "liberating" doesn't change the fact that a considerable proportion of prostitutes in this country are men, women and children who have been trafficked and coerced into sex work.
Yeah, I know what you mean. The whole article was very positive about the sex industry, and all the dangers associated with it seemed to be casually dismissed.

Take the average 500m split over 2 minutes. Then 2 minutes rest, then go again. 6 times. That was my Wednesday evening
I'll probably try again on Monday. 2:00/500m for a start.

Not forgetting all the absurd practices associated with commerical pornography, like anal bleaching and enemas - completely obfuscating the reality of what it's like. Or than many prostitutes and pornstars have drug addictions and are using sex work as quick cash.

I'm not against the sex industry per se, but let's not pretend that if the sex industry were properly regulated, and those under financial duress had their situation alleviated, that most people would not chose to remain in prostitution or pornography. Therefore, it suits those running it to keep people dependent on them - via drugs or money. So I'm skeptical that proper regulaton can actually be achieved. :beard:

To be honest, why would anyone choose Megan Fox over Johnny Depp regardless of gender or sexuality? He trumps her in all respects.

Unless you count boobs because, well, you know, he doesn't have any.

I think the sex industry definitely distorts the perception of what's normal in sex (for the reasons you listed, the acting, labiaplasty etc.) which doesn't benefit anyone.

And I agree. If the industry was well regulated, fair enough. But it has to be acknowledged that people are trafficked and coerced via drug addiction or extreme poverty into prostitution (and from there potentially porn). For obvious reasons, that doesn't sit right with me and therefore the glamourisation of the industry seems wrong.

Yeah. I don't think there's anything particularly glamourous or liberating about being filmed having a 12 inch penis rammed into your anus.

    But that's just me

But... when am I ever going to need to drop a particle, or calculate the acceleration of a car. Probability :yy: haha erm I guess that is somewhat true but... so is mechanics, and the rest of A level maths tbh.

Hmm, until they bite my leg off

Are you saying philosophy isn't a real subject!? Huh :huff:

Hermoine... probably does, JK just doesn't mention it.

"Dear Wizard Community, It has come to our attention that a Dark Wizard has made an Inferi of Cedric Diggory, now going by the name of Edward Cullen. He is known to be running around with an unregistered Animagus, Jacob Black. If you have any information about their whereabouts, contact the Ministry of Magic. Sincerely, Minister for Magic."

You cite in Maths... where there goes my whole view of the subject.

The 1st and the 3rd are the same! and I already did the 2nd one ): come up with some original ones!

    Really? Not even Warwick?

Hmm strange, must be different for this year then
Or go around the sun and yknow.. have orbits and shiz? Minor, minor issue I realize.. Or work out why your tea is getting cold? Now that, you must agree, is important! (Though that's uni level mechanics, not Edexcel)
Stats is by far the worst

    Meh, you've got a spare.

    Heh, maaybee.. but it's fun

Not by the end, because she obliviate's her parents and no one else seems to notice they no longer have a daughter..

lolroflcopterlmaogiggleheh. And Eddy's making inferi babies!

Well.. not specifically.. that is to say I never have.. but I probably should mention W|As contribution some day..

Well I'm sorry! That seems to be the limit of them, I googled Wolframalpha easter eggs and they were the best of them

My reaction was a combination of intense cringing and laughing. I struggle to think of many things worse than that.
