It seems that although Tom is the official winner, Susan 'won' according to the rules of the programme. I think we know that Lord Sugar isn't going to buy into the chair idea, and is hiring Tom on the basis of his future ideas potential. However, he is going to invest in Susan's beauty idea that she pitched in the interviews: although he might not give her 250k she is the one whose business plan has been judged as potentially succcessful.

It could be said that Susan, Tom and Helen won in a way. As said above, Susan had the best business plan other than unrealistic figures, and Helen was the strongest candidate. She would have had more of a chance of getting the investment with her alternative business plan, though I think Tom may still have won then on a gut feeling of his potential as a 'product man.'

Selling a product in Walmarts and Boots versus selling a product in Greenwich Market. Doesn't take a genius to work out which is the more successful product.
Tom didn't sell a product in Boots!

I really like the apprentice, and I enjoyed this series. However, in it's current form it just doesn't work. It's like all the tasks are just pointless, because all that really matters in the end is your history BEFORE the apprentice and your final business plan.

I knew Sugar was going to go with Tom. It was obvious, he always goes with the ideas man, and usually goes with his gut instinct.

I have an inkling Helen is going to be hired by someone else pretty soon, either by Lord Sugar himself of somone else. She's the bomb.
