WikiLeaks cables name UK banker as middleman in Kazakh corruption ring
Leaked dispatches detail how large bribes were paid to oil chiefs in former Soviet state in return for $219m contract

A British tycoon is identified by US diplomats as the man at the centre of one of America's worst recent corruption scandals, in which large bribes were allegedly handed over in the ex-Soviet state of Kazakhstan.

Robert Kissin, a UK banker and commodity trader, is alleged to be the key middleman who handled a $4m (£2.5m) secret payment.

WikiLeaks cable sticks the knife into Azerbaijan's first lady
Leaked dispatch lays bare US diplomats' less-than-flattering remarks about Mehriban Aliyeva

The first lady of Azerbaijan has problems showing a "full range of facial expression" following "substantial cosmetic surgery, (done) presumably overseas," US diplomats say witheringly in US embassy cables released by WikiLeaks.

I don't mean to sound mean but that just made me laugh

In fact this whole article sounds like a joke

    2) Muslims in Sweden are pretty chilled or you can say pretty much the same as westerners.
Not really. There have been many incidents of Muslims in Sweden causing trouble. You're forgetting that the population of Muslim in Sweden is higher than the Muslim population in the UK. Anyway, what reason does the Swedish government have to destroy this mall? What could come out of it? It's going to be in the news for 1 month, maximum and then it's gone. It's not going to make anyone forgot about wikileaks and whatnot so that isn't a reason.

I don't know gut instinct maybe, it just don't add up from whatever angle you look at it from.

      1) Sweden supports the war on terror, okay but it only had about 500 soldiers in Afganistan.

      2) Muslims in Sweden are pretty chilled or you can say pretty much the same as westerners.

      3) Why a bomb blast that will cause so little damage ?

4)Why was Sweden itself the target ? When its a fairly relaxed country.

It just don't add up. Tbh it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was an inside job, I am sure we will find out sooner or later and how the bombing is used in relation to Wikileaks :holmes:
Prior to the attack he sent an e-mail to a Swedish news agency regarding their albeit little involvement in Afghanistan and their silence during the Mohammad cartoon episode.

He didn't randomly pick Sweden. He lived there before coming to the UK and his wife is a Swedish citizen (thought to be of Arab origin). Also given the scale of the attack and how much he failed it just seems like he was disgruntled and acting alone.

WikiLeaks cables: Mervyn King plotted banks bailout by four cash-rich nations
Bank of England governor suggested new group of UK, US, Swiss and Japan could facilitate global bailout, cable shows

The Bank of England governor, Mervyn King, was so concerned about the health of the world's banks in March 2008 that he plotted a secret bailout of the system using funds from cash-rich nations, according to a US embassy cable released by WikiLeaks.

Six months before the world financial crisis reached its peak, forcing taxpayers to rescue collapsing financial institutions, King told US officials in London that the UK, US, Switzerland and Japan could jointly enable a multibillion-pound cash injection into global banks, overriding the "dysfunctional" G7 nations.

      Very very surprised about that.
Got a feeling its a token gesture to make the courts look like they are "with it" though. But I'm all for anything that helps the freedom of the press.
