Do you guys consider watching documentaries related to your subjects 'extra work'?
I try my hardest to convince myself that it is because I get lazy.

I'm sure you are capable to getting what you need, so what if you need to revise a little more than some people to get there ? I just need to stop being so god damn lazy and I'm sure I will be fine haha . What did you get at gcse if you don't mind me asking ? I'm sure you did incredibly and dw some people of here are abnormally clever !!!
Thanks I'm sure you'll get there, you know that you need to work so I'm sure you can find the incentives. Plus, there are so many little in-class assessments and tests at A level it seems, which is certainly persuading me to do ongoing revision so I don't look like I'm falling behind! I got 9 A*s and 4 As, which I was pretty happy about but on here that's apparently below average  which isn't good for a prospective Medical student! There's so much pressure on grades it's unreal... I know, so many people on here must be geniuses!

Only 9 A*s and 4 As ? You have no chance of doing Medicine. Enjoy Durham.

You've got to be kidding!? Whoever told you 9A*s and 4As is 'below average' is just wrong. From whatever angle you look at it - percentage of A*s (around 70%), number of A*s (9), median grade (A*) - your grades are amazing. Besides, I've heard one uni (Birmingham, possibly?) only counts your 9 highest GCSE grades.

Birmingham only counts the 9 highest? perhaps I should re-look at their Medical programme... and I believe it is for Medical applicants at the top unis, but that's probably just because Medicine is such a competitive course that requires that... so many people applying are private school candidates with like 13 straight A*s at iGCSE and tonnes of work experience through their contacts.

Those are still good results I do know mine are good, it's just Medicine demands the most ridiculous GCSE results ever, simply because almost every applicant has them! Ugh... competitive courses...

They're alright... I'm not too bothered about them though. Like, I'm not proud, but I'm not exactly bummed either? I've just accepted them, and I'm kind of proud of them in my own little way?

Yeah, you do need amazing results to do medicine haha.

    Don't feel bad.

My plan is to do work... I'll probably end up spending the whole day doing nothing and just sitting in the student centre (common room) spending each period with a different group of friends.

Nope I only have 10 also. I've seen people with less than me as well. It's really not a massive issue as long as you have the maths , English language and additional/triple science gcse :P

I would, but I just read around different text-books. Then again, I didn't exactly 'ace' my GCSEs lol

I Feel like that also, I know you are talking to someone else lol but I still, I revise MUCH more than my companions but they always ask me how I 'got' so clever, I just say that I work harder, because now I have a clear goal set.

Lots of negs . But seriously, you must be kidding. I got 6A,2B,1D and i'm going for medicine. Of course I ain't going to be going anyway that is super-fancy like Bham (where I live) or Oxbridge but I want to get in any medical school I can. My dream is set to do medicine, so anywhere if fine for me, but that being said, I will probably get in on the skin of my teeth unless my A-levels are sound and I have my experience.

I have to go to school! Only Years 7,8 & 13 are off. It's so stupid, if a teacher isn't there we have to go to the hall and work silently under the supervision of the head
