    There are many especially German names I absolutely would not rcommend to give to a child. The poor creature will be unished for his/her whole life with names like that.
    I completely disagree. I think Germanic names are very strong and characterful. If I were to have a son (which I doubt, so this is purely hypothetical) his name would be Ragnarr, Ragnvaldr, Arngrímr, or maybe even Einarr (my name, so Einarr Einarsson which would be lulzy). If a girl then Gunnhildr, Ásdís, Hervor or Álfrún. Personally I find latinate names to be very weak and flowery, and Hebrew names to be overtly religious and overused. As for continental West Germanic names (the ones I previously mentioned were all North Germanic) I think they are considered 'ugly' by many people because of English speakers' inability to pronounce German well.
