You just cannot break university social groups down like this.

By the way, "popular" and "prick" are usually synonymous.

dont think there are any sort of groups in uni, not in my uni anyway. like ppl have said above, u just tend to hang around with ppl u like and get along with. u'll talk to an endless number of ppl in the first couple of weeks, but later u'll just end up with a few guys who u like and then not talk to anyone else at most times!

If you join socities or do a course that attracts certain personalities -- so people who have the same tastes/interests as you -- you will be put in a "group" easier than someone who just has friends at their halls. I'm moving in with two girls next year who I met at the rock soc, so I guess I fit in that group as we've already labelled it the girl rock soc flat.

I mostly socialise with people on my physics course...so that makes us nerds.

But we've also got a reputation of being pretty socially active and always up for a party...

Its university not high school musical. There are no social "groups", the whole place is too big for people to be labeled and boxed into different cliques.

The average student will tend to socialise 50% with their flat mates, 25% with their course mates, and 25% with their society mates.

        I wouldn't say i'm in a certain group.
There's a group of us hang out but some of us are very much different to each other.

Uni is really big, alot bigger than school so I don't think it has groups like that...well not in my uni anyway.
exactly, their's just too many people for those kind of groups to develop - maybe in halls or whatever but in a general uni environment, probably not!
