Some advice that's really stuck with me, though its not necessarily the best out there, is:

Once you know that the person you're with isn't the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you should end it, because you never know when the right person is going to walk around the corner.

It just helps me to assess things in the way I want to. Not, 'am I unhappy with this?' but, 'is this the happiest I could be with this aspect of my life?' If not, I should change it.

I received a lot of advice but I don't see any that I can call the [email protected] least not yet

But these quotes sum up some of the epistles I received.

  • "The best advice I can give is to ignore advice. Life is too short to be distracted by the opinions of others." - I disagreed with whomever told me this one.... @ least to an extent

  • "Don't follow me... I'm lost!"- Advice taken!.... He had a saaad life

  • "Enjoy life to the fullest... You have only one chance"

My grandfather once told me that there were two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was much less competition.

"Just keep swimming" - for a forgetful computer-animated fish, Dory gives us the most wonderful piece of advice ever which I've adopted as my motto for quite some time now. When other people are sad, I will say this to them (or sing the song, if I feel like it) and I sometimes have to remind myself this too.

In other words, keep a sense of humour, it'll make all of the bad things in life that bit easier to cope with.
I agree! I broke my back over the summer and I would have gone insane without a sense of humour. The other best piece of advice is that your family are generally with you for life, so treat them well. I never realised how good my family are until I ended up in hospital, and then had a very rapid learning curve as I began to appreciate exactly how lucky I am to be related to these people.
