Depends on the power in a 2ltr, displacement means nothing. A 2ltr petrol will be more to insure than a 2ltr diesel as the petrol has more bhp, less torque. Then you have tuned 2ltrs like the hot hatches which cost a fortune to insure at 18, and then you have the ridiculously tuned 2ltr engines like the Impreza/Evo which are group 20.

So 2ltr displacement means nothing, just as much as having a 3.5ltr V8 which is 40 years old means nothing. A 40 year old V8 generates about 140hp, the same as a unstressed VW 2ltr diesel nowadays so insurance quotes and how much it is going to cost can only be gathered by actually asking insurance companies!

2ltr is the most common engine size, the power output varies massively and thus, insurance quotes.
