    What you have done is correct to me

    With these type of similar triangles, always draw them separately because it is so easy to confuse which part of what triangle.

    There will always be a side of the 'bigger' triangle, and a side of the 'smaller' triangle, which you can use to find the scale factor.

    always remember, like in the one you have just done, that if it asks for a certain part, as in Q, to minus of that 8, since it isn't asking for the length of AD.

    Also, if it is asking you to find a length of the 'smaller' triangle, dont forget to divide by the scale factor since your finding the smaller length!

    Do you have access to MyMaths?

    I am just doing a resit love, I left school years ago with a C, but I want to go to a particular Uni and I need a B. So I just paid to sit the edexcel paper at a local school.

    Nope, No access on mymaths. Goodluck for your maths exam! Yeah btw, the one thing that at first I wasnt sure was the 8+q because i intended to put it either 8q and this messed my second answer at the start.
