I got this uniball pack of three that are styled like ballpoint pens, but actually have gel ink. They're amazing and last for ages, I'd highly recommend!

Does it even matter? I just take random working pens from home and I do four essay based subjects.

There's a Tesco Express just down the road from me. They sell packs of 10 black ballpoint Zebra pens for something like £1.80. I buy a pack at the start of every exam season! Having said that, I went into an English exam with a gorgeous paper mate pen. It was great to hold, very slim and nice material, and finally ran after the very last sentence. I was almost upset! Got me an A*!
