Depends if I could give a damn...although I usually do, so I'd apologise although I wouldn't deign to change my ways unless I was provided with a genuinely good reason to not say the thing again. I would be willing to not say the thing as much or at all to a certain person just to keep the peace, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

That someone's right to free speech should be taken away because someone has said something to hurt your pride. What's more, they want to regulate what is "acceptable" or right.
I would like to point out that I believe in common sense before speaking, but I would never stop someone from saying what they want just because my ears don't like it.
So when someone says the reply in the title, what are your initial thoughts?
If someone finds what I have said offensive it is totally irrelevant to me, I have as much interest in what they had for breakfast. None.
