For me it's an impossible dream to go to bed early, I spend half the night faffing about on the computer and don't wake up till midday

No. I actually feel like I'm doing my generation a favour, at least to the extent of my own minute contribution counts towards the 'average' of my generation. I'm counting 'going to bed early' in the same category as staying up on my own, festering in front of the TV until 4am. General non-sociable stuff. And going out socialising/staying in socialising as the other option.

There's a remarkable disparity between what people want to do and what people feel socially obliged to do. It's odd how it even became a social obligation, given that even the people who outwardly seem to love socialising probably want nothing more than a cup of tea, a onesie and a film. I don't imagine there's any more than about 5% who actually feel like they want to be up all night having jolly times, but the rest of those who do it have probably found themselves stuck there through some misinterpretation of what is expected of them.

Haha I never have this feeling. I have a 12.5 hour shift tomorrow and at the moment all I can hear and feel is a pounding base and many people in halls getting very drunk. Boundless energy isn't going to apply to me tomorrow morning!

Haha this is a silly thread but I will admit that sometimes I think "if only the party animals could see me now" when I'm tucked up in bed with a book by 10pm!

Personally I would rather to go to bed early- you know, so i'm fit to study for this PGCE i'm paying for????? Maybe i'm a mug for not wanting to get into debt to "party" and walk around the next day looking like a sack of sick.

Yeah basically. Or not have people constantly judging me in work when they ask 'did you go out last night'?

I think since I made the thread about needing my Dad's permission to get a boner I've proved I've got issues. But yes I have relentless guilt for some of my past and a strange need for approval as penance

No you're a sensible and mature human being.
Why am I asking for permission to have stable physical and mental health... maybe I should be worried about this habit

because of relentless guilt I guess. It's not as painful to destroy my dignity on an internet forum than if I said this IRL anyway
It's basically to do with guilt about doing anything to have an edge over people, or even be their equal. A bit like I'm not allowing myself to be an equal
