I'd say probably yes, depending on the context. The word has two other meanings (bundle of twigs and a type of meatball) and another meaning in its shortened form (slang for cigarette). Having said that, if you're offended by people using certain words then you probably shouldn't go onto the internet.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. Swear words, like all language, develops and changes all the time - there's no tradition to them. The 'swears' are just the most offensive ones at that time and I certainly think its far more offensive to call someone something very racist or homophobic than to use the 'one that rhymes with duck'.
PLEASE crawl back under your rock. I never said the f word was more offensive.

    No it isn't.

Just don't use it in a discriminatory or hateful way toward an LGBT person. I can understand semantic drift and change in meanings and I can see the word 'fag' or '******' being used in a different context now. I'm cool with that.

No it's not a swear word.

    It's a pejorative/derogatory term.

Well swear words are the most offensive words then saying that the f-word is a swear and these ones aren't suggests that they're more offensive sorry if you find that line of reasoning faulty I wasn't trying to attack you.
