    If you earned £35k through PAYE in the UK, your take home pay will be £26,754 after income tax and national insurance.

    Everyone's living expenses will differ, so taking a blanket approach to how much one person will have as disposable income compared to another is stupid.

    I thought there was no (regular) job in the world that could offer 100k/year to a 25 year old. Except if you are a prodigy with a natural charisma in finance, investment banking or something like that. In which case, the money does not even come from the salary but from the bonuses.
