    We do care
I'm sure you do, but this thread shows a lot of disdain for black history month which is a bit sad.

Does anyone have any info of Ancient Africa and their civilisations?
Well it wasn't quite ancient Greece down there at the time, let's put it like that.

Not an awful lot added to the sum of human knowledge. Maybe a few cave paintings being drawn while Plato and Aristotle laid the foundations of philosophy, Pythagaros that of mathematics, astronomy and music and Homer, literature.

I didn't know they had black history month in the UK. A bit like Halloween then- another fad taken from the Americans. I expect they'll be introducing Thanksgiving next. If America put their collective head in the oven the UK would copy them.

As to black history month itself, I can't see it should take a month to cover it. I'd have though half an hour would do it.

In talking about black people's contribution to society?

Keeping on track, I'm not one to actively celebrate black history month, but I guess I value my culture in terms of music. Been listening to a lot of jazz recently
Yeah, I posted Morgan Freeman. One of the greatest black actors to ever live.

I find this odd since Africa has the oldest civilisations and there is no history.

Yes because black history began with slavery didnt it.. thats when blacks were created. Idiot blacks are earths natives you coukd never cover it. Black history month is nothing more than a white man way of telling blacks "we owned you" its a reminder.

Well the Mongol's had no written history beyond the immediate Royal family either. Don't you find it strange that the Mongolia greatest leader and one of the most recognisable historical figures in world history has such scant information about him?

Most if not all of what we know about the Mongols was recorded by Islamic and Christian scholars.
