I'd only be able to do it in Nandos. Not sure of any other restaurant that I wouldn't feel conscious about eating alone in. But that's just me.
I was thinking of eating alone in Nandos on friday actually but made a detour to KFC instead

It is absolutely fine to go to a restaurant on your own. During my short trip to London, I did everything alone including eating at restaurants on my own and no one batted an eye. It will be weird and a little awkward at first but you'll soon forget about everyone and enjoy your meal.

Basically I want to take a shopping trip into town but I really like shopping on my own because I go to shops on my own and I can browse whatever I want to look at in my own time. I kind of want to have lunch at a restaurant that I like but do you think it would be weird if I sat in a restaurant on my own? Like I'd probably have a book so it's not like I'd just be sitting there staring into space, but if I ask a friend to come with me then I have to go to shops they want to go to and I can't spend as long as I want looking at stuff idk, would you judge someone who is 17 sitting in a restaurant on their own?
You should be thought less of if you didn't dine alone when the circumstance suggested it.

Only a loser does that. Winners don't care what other people in the restaurant might think.

    Think about it.

Very common in restaurants attached to hotels as the business people are away on their own.

    yes, people judge you :

they think you have no friends

    have autism

    have no social skills

are hated by work colleagues and family

They can make that judgement within 3 seconds of seeing you

Yes they can but their judgement would be shallow and their ignorant opinion utterly worthless so who would care...?

It isn't weird at all. If people judge you, you never have to see them again. Do your thing man.
