No interview yet, sent my application early October.. Getting worried :tumble:
That's weird - I wonder what order they process applications? It seems almost random.

Are there interviews for international applicants?
I contacted Imperial regarding this and they said that strong applicants will sit for an admissions test.

    Congrats for getting an interview!

From what I know the interview with consist of some ice-breaking chat (for the interviewer to know you as a person better), one to three Maths/ Problem solving questions (for the interviewer to know how you approach a problem), and some time for you to ask questions about the course, life, or any other things.

    I would say:
    - Be natural and be yourself
    - Speak your thoughts loud for the Maths/Problem solving questions, it is not "wrong" to get the answer within a snap, but the department focuses on HOW one come up with the solution and how they present it.
    - Research a bit about your interviewer - it may serve as a good ice-breaker, even you have no idea what his research interest are in
    - Know your PS - there is a high chance that part of the interview is guided by what you have written on it

    and... good luck!

    Right, thanks for the help!

I wonder whether I will know who will interview me beforehand or will only be introduced to him/her right at the start of the interview. If I'll know, the tip about researching them a bit will come in handy.

Should also probably revise the books I mentioned on my PS.

    Thanks again, bud

I had the impression that you will know who interviews you in advance - judging from what you said it seems I am wrong!

It would be always beneficial to know what the book you've mentioned in PS is talking about, though I doubt if the interviewer would drill into it (unless he/she writes the book!).
