I diidddddd. But I put too many in there I think

    I used:
    -Red chilli powder
    -Cumin
    -Garam Masala
    -Salt
    -Pepper
-This other thing in the box
    -and shredded coriander.

Still tasted like crap maybe I'm just not meant to cook....I burnt my oatmeal the other day.
:console: i am not a good cook myself
    I have also burnt oatmeal
Not a bad choice in seasonings

I tried making this african dish Jollof rice and it was so bland it is still in the freezer :cry2:

Try using one/ one and a half teaspoons of chilli and cumin
One teaspoon of everything else apart from maybe 2 teaspoons of coriander. Should be alright. Don't worry everyone burns oatmeal at some point.

    But this is Sooooo complicated!!!

Why not start with a nice casserole (whatever meat you like with carrots, an onion, water, and a tin of tomatoes) or salmon baked for 20 minutes in a bit of cream (you can stick a fried onion in first if you like). Or a pasta and vegetable bake?
These are so simple even I can do them.
But spices to this extent.... nooooo

Your problem is your using too much ingredients at once, and quite strong ingredients together. Start off simple.

I follow instructions on a recipe letter by letter and it usually comes out edible lmao.

Sometimes I pretend Gegg Wallace and John whats-his-face will judge me if my food turns out bad, scares me enough to focus omg.
lmao, omd i do the same thing. I pretend Gregg and John are gonna judge my food. Sometimes, i pretend i'm the judge.

Lol I cant cook either. My mom has wanted to teach me for ages but I dont want to, I hate cooking even basic stuff like frozen chicken nuggets because it takes time and u have to watch and make sure it doesnt burn etc Im too impatient. I just eat simple stuff like salad or order food.

The downside is that my monthly food budget is way too high because of this

    Here's how you make noodles:

    get tupperware container
put instant noodles in the bottom
add whatever seasoning comes in the packet
    add layer of chopped mushrooms
add can of tuna (drain first)
    add boiling water
    stir

    For a really simple stir fry;
    1) Chop some chicken into thin slices and leave it in a bowl for about half an hour in some soy sauce. (Use about 2 tablespoons for 500 grams chicken-you don't need much at all). I would wash it straight after chopping as well.
    2) Get two pinches garlic, two pinches ginger, salt none as soy sauce is quite salty. Heat this in a pan until you can smell it. When you can the pan will be warm and;
2a) Put the chicken in a pan and stir it around on a medium heat. Medium as in it doesn't stick or burn-if it does quickly lower it. Do this for 10 minutes.
    3) Then add some vegetables (peppers, onions, whatever) then cook for 10 more minutes. You add these last as they don't take as long to cook as the chicken.
    4) For the noodles cook them for 2 minutes then when draining them rinse them in cold water. This is optional, but it stops them over-cooking. They will warm up when you mix it with the chicken. An optional step for those who keep burning noodles.
For rice, get the pan/bowl you cooked it in and get a bigger pan. Fill the bigger pan with cold water and put the one with rice in it. This will cool it down (and obviously keep the rice dry).

That is really simple, not complicated at all, but it works. Obviously if you get better than start making more complicated stuff but try that if you are struggling. When you get better I will reccomend something more complex and impressive.

    Hope it helps.

There is no such thing as being good at cooking. You can get good by practice. Being great is a skill and gift, but good is just practice.
