No, not at all. I think most people aspire to be happy or to attain a standard of level where they are able to support themselves (+ family if there's one) and do the things they want to do.
This is usually a far cry from rich.

I'm not really interested in being rich although I do want to be 'comfortable' and my future children to be privately educated.

I do, everything I want could in some way be achieved by being obscenely rich.

Interestingly, money only comes third in terms of reasons why people do things. Sex is number 1, and power is the second.

Not really. I would be pretty down on myself if I thought that slaving away in the financial services sector for 70+ hours a week was the meaning of life. So many people on TSR think that's the nirvana, but chances are Fetty Wap made more money releasing Trap Queen than any of them will in their entire careers. Why set yourself up to participate in a competition you are guaranteed to lose the next time someone cooler than you installs Auto-Tune on their PC?

Basically I just want to be really really rich. Obviously I want to live until I'm 90 too. I don't want anything else - fame or scientific discovery of prizes or anything else. Just loads of money.

All of my other goals: hot Girlfriend, expensive watch, cars just come downstream from that.
I just want to be rich I don't care about anything- in order to be rich I need to be clever and have a degree so those matter as well for now

I don't want to be rich, I want to be happy.
However I am not deluded and I understand both myself and the society I live in. Money is required to eat nice food, wear nice clothes and visit beautiful locations - three things I love doing.
However whilst on this topic I think a lot of people go to University for the wrong reason - the amount of times I've heard "I'm going to Uni so I can have a high paying job when I'm older" there's much easier ways to get rich rather than going to Uni and grafting hard to get a first and then a good job.

Now I am starting to understand why the majority of my views are so at odds with the rest of TSR.

If money is the root of evil then why do they ask for it in church?

Because there is nothing more evil than organised religion.

my family and I - I'm trying not to be selfish and respecting my family before myself.
I think 'my family and I' is the most correct way of saying it anyway

it's going towards a good cause like making gold statues of jesus and church windows so this reverses the evilness

What people want is financial security as opposed to being rich per say, once you get to a certain point there are diminishing returns.

    Personally my goals are..

Post tax salary of £3k per month (£45-50k with the current tax system).
Own 2 properties (one my home and the other a source of income)
Pension fund after tax of around £1.5m (would give me £3k per month for around 50 years)
Have enough savings to put my children through a private education (couple of hundred grand needed really)

Secondary goals should i win the lottery or anything are..

At £10m i would never be employed by anybody else again (would set up multiple businesses and income streams)
At £100m i would buy my way into politics and also have a super casino resort and hotel
At £1bn i would have a firm conducting advanced research and development into health/eugenics and space
At £10bn i would accept i have too much and create a version of the Gates Foundation which solves problems in the UK and not Africa

Scientists don't often discover prizes, although they sometimes get prizes for discovering other things.

I would like to be rich. I would give money to my family, friends, charities, never have to worry about debt, etc. I don't want to be consumed by materialism or whatever but if money isn't making you happy then you're not spending it right.

Not everyone wants to be rich - that's why they voted Labour.
