It obviously will. You get most views right out of the gate and people don't want to watch an old thing that has its hype died down.
Going No 1 also would've given him more promo.
Moreover, he's had a great year. One platinium mixtape and a throwaway joint mixtape. 100 hits at the Billboard 100.
So basically, for Drake is getting records that nobody cares about and Adele is just busy killing the chart.

ADELE may not be the one blocking him anyway as it turns out. Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' is doing really well (just unfortunate for him this is 'Hello''s week) and could début No 2. And 'The Hill' might even be No 3.
