Wait so can the 10-marker definitely be bullet points (i.e. Not continuous prose)?

As far as I can see the specification says both 10 markers and 18 markers can be written in note form and continuous prose. This is what the spec says:

3 Section B:
Investigating
Musical Styles
(28 marks)
Candidates will choose to extend one of the AS areas of study and
answer a two-part question on it.
The questions (10 and 18 marks each) prompt candidates to
identify and/or compare and contrast given musical features from
the selected set works and comment on how these features help to
place the work in a social and historical context.
Answers may be in note form or continuous prose.

Attached is also an example of a full marks 10 marker and 18 marker from the Examiners Report which is formed from bullet points so it's a good shout.

I've just had a quick look to see which of our set works have been used before so I thought I'd post them here incase anyone wanted to know:
Sample paper: 10 mark question on Desmond Dekker
2011: listening questions on Joke & Summertime, 10 mark on Oasis, 18 mark on Dowland and Berio
2012: 10 mark on Flow My Tears
2014: listening on Desmond Dekker

Good luck tomorrow everyone!! <3

wasn't too bad, Tippett listening question could've been better

It was better than I expected!! I absolutely loved the essay questions for the vocal works, couldn't have asked for anything better tbh!!

What interval did you write down for the tippett question 2? (I think)
How did everyone find the exam? What did you think of the questions on the motif being reused and the links with renaissance and baroque music in the Tippett listening?

Yeah, so I wrote with the Re-used 4-note motif that it was Inverted, Played in different Instruments, used in an ascending sequence. In the latter question which mentioned it, I mentioned that it was split into three-note cells and inverted. Probably, one of those inverted was wrong, likely the first. What did you put?

The links, I did Modal Harmonies, Antiphony, Polyphony

Phrygian in d Major. Oh dear just realised my mistake. You're defo right.

Yeah just checked it's Imperfect in D Minor. Doesn't look like a Phrygian in the score.

Oh sweet, phrygian is a type of imperfect cadence so hopefully both imperfect and phyrigian will get mark!
