# AQA A2 MFP3 Further Pure 3 – 18th May 2016 [Exam Discussion Thread] watch

The limits used for part bii are not the limits that are used to evaluate biii. The limits for part bii actually switch to calculate biii. They should be 0 (upper) and 1 (lower) instead of 1 (upper) and 0 (lower). This is because of the substitution; when you change the limits for the substitution using y=1/x, you calculate y=1/infinity = 0 for the upper and y=1/1 = 1 for the lower. If you calculate the integral again using the limits 0, 1 instead of 1, 0 the sign changes and becomes positive. You'd get 0 - -1/2 = 1/2 instead of -1/2 - 0 = -1/2 for the definite integral.

Oh okay I get it, they switch it around at the start because the top of the integral is always the upper bound but when you put in the values its backward.

Would never of saw that in the exam

Thank you

Go on the C3 15th june thread and there is a link there for legacy papers and find the ones called something like map-5, there are some tough questions there if you skim through those papers
Can you guys link this? Struggling to find it sorry

I also struggled to find it!

9. The past papers are usually easy apart from the polar coordinates, so easy to make a mistake and lost tons of marks.

Would like an FP4 thread, that paper is weird.

Why don't you make one?

What's m3 like I quite liked m2 prefer it over the pure modules

I personally prefer pure modules. I find M3 simple mostly, the only thing I find hard is the last part of the relative motion topic. In my opinion, it is a similar level of difficulty to M2. M5 on the other hand, that is a lot harder!
16. Thanks for that,

Scroll down and click on "mathematics" then you will see map4 map5 etc on the side. If youre havibg trouble viewing maybe switch from mobile to computer, i cant get it to show up properly on my phone for some reason.
Thank you!

Actually got it to work on my phone if you scroll down and click on the image which says Aqa A-level, then click on mathematics and you will see them.
