They're fleeing a war and you feel angry?

The only thing making me angry here is that none of them are being allowed in islamic countries in the middle east, just giving Europe the full burden.

They're allowed to claim asylum and EU have put in reforms to send away migrants that dont comply with the requirements.
I feel angry because I live in Cornwall not far from Scilly. It's our towns that are gonna be flooded by migrants. The Scilly Islands depend heavily on tourism, but nobody is gonna go if they're full of migrants. We depend on tourism across the Westcountry. It's the only significant industry left. Our tiny villages are the last bastion of traditional Kernow/ England and its church bells we want to hear not morning prayer call 5 times a day!

We have a housing shortage in Devon and Cornwall with extortionate house prices, no doubt the migrants will get first refusal for any homes that come available, because it would be racist to put a homeless young British familiy or a war veteran into a vacant home without first offering it to a foreign migrant. Then what few houses are left will become even more expensive.

    So yes people are angry.

Lmfao where'd you get that ******** from?
Common sense. Risking your life to move from a stable, progressive and safe country to another stable, progressive and safe country is not the motive of a refugee but an economic migrant. What's better is they move through 20 safe countries so they are not refugees but illegal economic migrants

Did anyone see that documentary with transvestite multimillionaire Paul O' Grady berating a Greek lady for telling the migrants to go home? Why doesn't he donate a couple of million to help these poor people?

Apologies, I was under the impression you were disputing the notion that Africa was light years behind Europe. However you have now inadvertently implied that Egypt has not progressed since ancient times but has probably regressed.

No, but there was one on Dutch TV where a journo went undercover and stayed in a migrant camp. He found that barely anybody there was genuinely Syrian, the vast majority were young guys and most of them were fleeing things in their home country like their families, responsibilities, debt etc etc. So basically what most people who aren't deluded SJWs already knew and what the statistics show (the lack of genuine Syrians and the gender parts anyway).

None of those people are from Syria; they are sub-Saharan Africans.

This won't stop until weapons are deployed.
People will be less likely to make the "journey" when they know that doing so means they run the risk of being filled with lead before reaching land.

At the moment there is no real deterrent to discourage them and that is why they keep coming.

I'll give him a look, thanks.
Ehm as an Italian i can tell you that we had an agreement with Gheddafi that impeded immigrants to come here until 2012.

Thanks to the marvellous military interventions made by the uk and by france ( good decision Cameron and Sarkozy) Lybia was destabilized and refugees started to come.

We are obliged to rescue these migrants inasmuch as we have to respect international laws. The little island of Lampedusa (where they arrive) is in a desperate situation, persistently invaded by migrants.

It's pathetic seeing how much of a pussy the Italian army and navy is. Pump a few bullets into those boats and watch them sink into the sea. I don't think the Africans will come after that.

Thanks for clarifying the other side there.

So, on the one hand, we have people fleeing their homes in fear of their lives, including from genocidal religious fundamentalists. But on the other hand, some people think the aesthetic of their "traditional" villages would be tarnished if black and brown people lived there.

Our local tourist industry has been struggling for decades, bad weather lack of development and cheap holidays abroad has all but killed tourism off. We now have a tide of migrants landing in Scilly who are gonna swamp our local villages and tourist sites driving even more people away whilst instead of bringing in money they're being a cost and drain to local society.

I've seen what happens with migrants in Austria. We went skiing in January. The village we stopped (a peaceful crime free Tyrollean village) was swamped with migrants. Several friends had ski equipment stolen including an expensive top spec GoPro camera.
We were stared at, constantly accosted for money. Young Women were starred at by them. We stopped for a meal out at lunch time and left our table to watch a ski act and got back to find our food had been stolen. Some charming migrant had grabbed handfuls of the food from our plates
We've never experience this sort of behaviour in Austria. We payed a lot of money for that holiday and saw migrants having a better time than us skiing around on stolen equipment cutting up other skiers they were a bloody dangerous nuisance.
We certainly won't be going back next year of that lots still loitering around.

Isn't American intervention wonderful so good of them to spread democracy and freedom around to these people who used to be so self contained.
but then they would like to see the EU fail under the weight of all the freedom these people have now.

Ya such a wonderful humanitarian idea. The government could issue hunting licences to make a few bucks and the towns folk could stand on shore using these loathsome bits of desperation for target practice. Good on ya mate.

Yeah, that's completely right, not at all a deliberate misunderstanding and gross oversimplification

The government distributes migrants in rural locations, I think, so Scilly might be on their list if we resettle more migrants. I don't know how expensive housing is over there
