There are many of them, get over it. Did yoh know the Middle East has the highest rates of gay porn usage in the world? Look what suppression does. It doesn't solve the problem, guys.

Yes we're Shia. If I came out as gay my parents would be surprised but would never disown me or change their behaviour towards me. In fact, when one of our family friend's son came out and his father kicked him out, he stayed with us for a while until things calmed down.

    LGBTQIA*.

    Why?
I was being sarcastic as the that abbreviation will never stop. I use to be one of those people who were like 'do what makes you happy, be homosexual' and so on, but once i researched it, instead of just following the crowd and rejecting those against homosexuality, it does not really make much sense to me, religiously, historically and biologically. Lets be real, if there was some sort of 100% guaranteed way one could become straight, 90% of homosexuals would be running through those doors, as deep down, nobody want to be gay or whatever historically unaccepted sexual orientation people are, because its not right. I do not hate them, i have friends who are bisexual, but i sympathies rather than hate.
    This is my personal opinion.

People are entitled to their own opinions. you do not have the right to force down your beliefs down other people throats. You can say your opinion and argue your point but you cannot insult someone because of what they think. You are not always right.

I think you have really misinterpreted things you have researched. People do not want to be straight because it is right, people want to be straight because it easier. Society has made our lives hell until very recently and things are still tough. It is unbelievably strange for you to go from being accepting to being intolerant. Usually people are progressive - not willing to go backwards.

Not muslim, but still from a culture where being any thing other that "straight" is deemed unacceptable.

I'd hope that they never have to "come out" anyway, I hope that my child would accept it as normal by then and I would be happy to see them happy.

Can I just say, that this applies to both gay and straight people alike. I have a friend who when he is older would like to adopt children and support them to be gay - and when I say this I don't mean being open-minded about their sexuality but being a gay supremist who believes that gays should 'take over the world and be superior to heterosexuals'. So really if there are people who can discriminate against gay people and see it as 'wrong', there are also straight people who can do the same. However, the world will always have people like this in my opinion.

Anyways, in my opinion I believe that if I ever chose to have children I would allow them to be whatever sexuality they desire. I would like them to know they are able to ask me questions whenever they are in need of advice of any kind, and if it happens to be about their sexuality I would give them a big hug and tell them I would love them no matter what. This applies to everyone no matter who they are, everyone deserves the right to be gay if they want to be and so it should be supported by the public to be open about your sexuality - and this applies to religion too. On the other hand, my parents view being gay as something that is 'sinful' coming from a religious household where people feel they can be spiteful about other people.

It wouldn't change anything, I could never disown my own children. I'd accept them as they are.

But I would explain that islamically they cannot act upon it, I'd hope they could deal with that

You can't change what she is. Silly religion believers.

I don't understand why don't they just accept she is who she is.

I bet if iquestion them enough they'll eventually come to a bull answer of God told me or whatever or refer to some stupid outdated religious teaching or scripture which is in this day and age no logical.

Honestly i have no sympathy for these kind of stupid Muslim parents they're fools.
Seriously just tell your cousin to forget aboiut her family and cut all ties, clearly she's fine as she is now with her gf.
Not backing up Muslims, but trust me, it's more of a question of culture than religion. Imagine, for a South Asian family, embodied in a South-Asian community, to have something like that? It would ruin their rep. Some Muslim Scholars, and reformed/modern muslims, have said you can be gay/muslim so..
