    Life is about risks
    Revising theories of the family
    Couples and demography
Not touching diversity...it's a risk but ah well lol
I've gone over literally everything but haven't touched childhood, do you reckon I should go over it or just focus on the predictions now?

Demography keeps getting a lot of predictions, ageing population came up in 2014 June though so I'm not sure
    Yeah it did
They could ask something on migration though
But it's such a small section could you honestly write a lot?

i got a 'C' grade on this last year by purely bs'ing my way through and making up my own sociologists called 'raj' and 'wendy' lol, do they take the best grades or the worst? i hope it's the best, so i can at least smash a2.

and yeah im not revising diversity..

what topics can come up for couples? have you got example exam questions for the topic?

and unfortunately no i dont have statistics or numbers on the past questions. it's just in the last 5-6 years birth rate and death rate have never come up as 24 markers.

this came up as a 24m in 2010
    the mark scheme says
Concepts and issues such as the following may appear: the role of theeducation system; rising divorce rates; lone-parent families; births outsidemarriage; rise of feminism; child care; choice; singletons; family diversity;greater individualism; kinship patterns; the development of the welfare state;reproductive technologies.
This question is easy once you know what you are talking about. Talk about parsons and how the family has lost some of its functions and now it has more important functions such as primary socialisation. Also fletcher who is another functionalist argues that institutions in society such as NHS have not replaced functions of the family but have helped the family perform functions. So they give advice about how to take care of the family and the sick. After this just talk about Marxist and how they see the family as still the capitalism system. + Marxist feminist

    They could ask things like:
Examine the factors affecting power and reationships and the divstion of labour between couples.

This question is just power and equality + conjugal roles
    Add some theories to

I think you should just go over it! it might not come up as a 24 marker but it can still come up as a 6 or 4!

Example of a past question is 'identify three ways in which adults may control the actives of children' six marker in Jan 13

I think its most likely to come up as a 6 maker or maybe just a definition

assess the view that, in today’s society, the family is losing its functions.· reasons for, and the effects of, changes in family size over the past 100 years or so.·
assess the view that the growth of family diversity has led to the decline of the traditional nuclear family·
assess the view that there is greater diversity of family types and lifestyles today.
asses sociological explanations of the nature and extent of family diversity today
