Brazil need a complete restructuring to get back their identity. Dunga isn't the right man to achieve this goal.

Peru's goal was a hand ball but they had a penalty not given.

The issue with Brazil stretches from their governing body to the streets. People are disillusioned with the national side, their national footballing body's directors are being indicted by US federal government, they were dumped out of their own World Cup after losing 7-1, and millions still live in poverty despite the country throwing the World Cup and Olympics.

Anyone have a firm idea as to who is the second best team left in the competition?

Dunga dismissed as Brazil boss - and absolute no surprise there.

Humiliated three summers in a row.

Seems Brazilian fans are pretty happy with the selection of Tite to take over.

Weird. I have a sneaky feeling USA could make the final.

Same, to be honest. Seattle will provide them with a great, frenetic crowd too. But I think Mexico are the danger side for others. Argentina should be in the final, theoretically, but a lot can change and a one-off game can serve up any result (just look at Brazil's struggles).

Great finish from Higuian and an exquisite pass from Messi to make it.

The winner of this game will face USA, who played two days ago, which is a bit of an advantage.

Right after they shot themselves in the foot by giving Higuian a one on one, the guy does that....

Great goal from Messi to make it 3-0, a trademark nutmeg, 4th goal of the competition making him the top goalscorer and equalling Batigol record of 54 for the NT.

3-1 Rondon with a great header and then Lamela with a right foot scuffed shot the GK should save 4-1.

Brutal stuff from Chile here. Well worked goals and Mexico are all but out now. Just as I'm typing this they've done it again. Four nil.

Chile are some team. If anybody is stopping Argentina, it's Chile.

Finished 7-0. Honestly could have been ten. Chile were hungry for more goals despite being so far in front. They are relentless, every time they got the ball they looked like scoring.
