Southgate seems too obvious - might be promoted as an assistant to the new manager who IMO will be one of Allardyce, Bruce or Klinsmann. Bruce's situation at Hull is up in the air with a potential takeover so I think he'd go for the job and he's a fan of the 3-5-2 which seems to be a tactical rage these days. Allardyce's chance might have gone but Klinsmann was a name bandied about and as we can't beat Germany on the pitch atm, might as well get one of their ex-legends to coach us instead..
Allardyce hasn't finished in the top half for a decade and plays uninspiring football. Hodgson V2, but with less success and experience.Bruce has underachieved at Hull for two seasons. He's probably worse than Allardyce.

Klinsmann has been unremarkable at all three clubs he's managed at.

I think Pardew is the best choice.

Southgate rejects chance to be interim boss - and rightly so. He's doing decent work with the Under-21s, and he's not the right man for the job anyway.

We need the football equivalent of Eddie Jones essentially, someone who can really turn us around, who is tactically astute and who will get us breaking the right records.
Pards would be horrific, he's clearly been eyeing the England job and has probably practiced his opening press conference in front of the mirror just like he did with that shameful dance in the FA Cup final. Doesn't want it for the benefit of restoring credibility to the England football team but rather for his own personal gain.

May as well pick the best manager available, Laurent Blanc and Manuel Pellegrini are currently without jobs and they've won plenty of trophies. Honestly don't think any English manager (apart from Pardew) would really want it, basically the job has become a poison chalice.

It's a decent proposition (the Eddie Jones thing) but it's worth remembering English rugby - and English cricket, with Trevor Bayliss - are two sports who have enjoyed success more recently than the English football team. It's been 13 years since England won the Rugby World Cup, not 50. Likewise, England enjoyed white-ball success in cricket in the World T20 a mere five/six years ago.
