    The first proposal is for all council owned car parks to not charge for the first hour of parking. Thus making the high-street more (or equally) attractive to the shopping centre or large supermarket
    Having reread the statement I just don't see this working. The issue with high street parking, both locally and across the Country from my travels, is that high streets and their car parks are nearly full every weekend, that added to the fact businesses are increasingly moving to the big shopping centres which can accommodate vastly more people, meaning higher sales. I don't see how this part of the SoI does anything apart from take money out of local government's coffers meaning local services will suffer with little to no positive effects on local high streets

    We should stop building out of town shopping centres that take land that could be used for housing or agriculture. *It has created local monopolies for large companies and the dominance of a few supermarket and clothing chains restricts some competition and has driven down farming incomes.
