To put it bluntly I'm very fat and, as I am going off to university in a week, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to lose weight while studying. I currently weigh about 15 and a half stone and am 5 ft 5 inches - so yeah in the obese range and I'd really like to lose about 5 stone to start with by the end of my three year course. Tbh it's making me miserable, I look and feel like crap, and I'd much rather not be a land whale with health problems in the foreseeable future
Sports wise, I'd recommend swimming, as it's a fantastic sport that boosts your cardiovascular strength, you can make it as intense as you want and if you're overweight, it won't put stress on your joints like running tends to.

I also go to the gym three times a week alongside swimming, so find a gym and book a free personal training session to get some tips. HIIT workouts are also great for sweating and burning fats in short, sharp bursts, some can only last for 20 mins at a time but you do feel exhausted afterwards.

Diet is also really important, obviously replace unhealthy snacks with healthier alternatives and have more veg and fruit in your diet along with protein and unrefined carbs to keep you fuelled for the rest of the day.

Everyone will have different tips but I think most people will agree that it takes discipline to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so you need to be strict with yourself and stay away from the things that made you overweight in the first place.

    Hope this helped!

I know loads of people are against this but go vegan. I went vegan and lost 3 stone over 6 months without doing any exercise! You can eat unlimited calories and to be honest, its much cheaper(despite what people think) which would be extremely useful at uni. Research i more and i promise you it will work!
    Good luck!
