Maths is beautiful, it's the ultimate triumph of mind over matter. I mean, geezers like Hooke figured out the inverse-square law of distance vs gravitation by simple observation and derivation from first principles, how fantastic is that? To write down the laws governing the movement of the celestial bodies, that possibly we'll never touch, with both feet firmly on the ground, by pen and paper, in the 1500's? It's completely elementary, every physical phenomenon and otherwise comes down to maths. Complexity like intelligent life arises from simple laws and axioms. There's so much of it, too. I want to understand all of it. And there's nothing better than solving a complex STEP or UKMT problem with your own intuition. It's either right or wrong, no ******** like in psychology where studies prove and disprove tenuous theories - elegant proofs last forever. There is simply nothing better.

    So... what was it about?
If you don't want to say it it's perfectly fine, I know a fan's imagination can go anywhere XP
And this is quite personal too.
