As you know I have arguments with JD, that is unlikely to happen if the amendment did pass.
Please, do you think we were born yesterday?

If he offered the seat to me to keep it warm, I would not decline his offer, however, it is an unlikely situation.

I'm shocked and saddened that UKIP are so slow at announcing their MPs, I expect the greens to be last again however:giggle:

Corrected your post for you.
Well, no, I would create dupes and actually take multiple votes.

Congratulations to Jammy Duel, I feel better about not voting for UKIP now he has won his seat.
(Original post by Nigel Farage MEP)
There should be an amendment to allow independents to form a party to fulfil the seats they are entitled to if they happen to win more than one.
Ask him out already, ffs!

I want you to know LP, that all this hard work and campaigning - the extra effort on the manifesto, the cool new avatars - it was all for you. To cement your legacy as the first and last Tory PM in years. I hope you're grateful. :cute:

You and LP, and Nigel and Jammy could all cough up and get the honeymoon suite.

That's a little discriminatory, surely. I'll be sure to add you to our list for holistic re-education.

Discrimination is a wonderful thing and it's regrettable there is not more of it in the world.

Yes, what an internally disorganised party, relying on one person to make the decision MP seat by MP seat. Ukip should adopt a democratic centralist system of operation so that it can be as efficient as us!

'Holistic re-education' = back-breaking manual labour in gulag™. Special election time offer - only £4.99 a month, ends next week!

While I'm certainly moved by this gesture, I'd much rather see our party and its leader take the reins again, this time hopefully in a more supportive coalition (which means I realise it may take a while because our current options are appalling whereas you can always count on Socialists).

We won the last election and now you are the lucky ones. With so few votes, even a few stray votes for independents meant a lot. However, it will be more interesting to see how you're going to maintain 17 active seats considering the problems you had by the end of the last term with three out of thirteen (fourteen?) of your seats.

Ah well. Such is the way of things.

We only lost one seat to a by-election towards the end of the term. I admit we let the ball drop and we didn't even expect there to be a by-election so close to the end. Since then the Chief Whip has changed, the mistake will not be repeated.

Well, I need to remind you it was a bit more serious than that:

Seat 16, held by CheeseIsVeg for Labour (66.7%).
Seat 24, held by zayn008 for Labour (66.7%).
Seat 50, held by JTran38 (proxied by That Bearded Man) for Labour (33.3%).

Party averages:
98.4% – UKIP
95.7% – Conservatives
95.6% – Socialists
92.6% – Greens
87.5% – Liberals
87.3% – Labour

I don't mean to make fun of you or anything, just pointing out it's genuinely difficult to retain 17 seats in this environment, especially when you had to summon exotic names I'd never heard of back when you had considerably fewer seats, yet still couldn't achieve the required voting performance.

I sure as heck wouldn't want to be whipping 17 arses around, especially when at least 10 of them will be made of metal.

Those weren't great totals but we kept the seats - not easy when you have more than most I know. Rest assured we'll be keeping a very close eye on things.
