I envy you! It usually takes me about 3 - 4 hours every night. I just lie awake thinking to myself that I need to stop thinking and can't stop!

I also tried staying up till I can barely stay awake any longer, then as soon as I get in bed I'm wide awake again.

I also wake up early so as a result, am always tired.

If I was left to sleep naturally - by that I mean without tv, ipod etc, just silence...then I would not sleep. For as long as I can remember I've needed to be doing something in order to fall asleep. Now I just whack on some podcasts and fall asleep listening to them. It's usually between 10-50 minutes.

At the moment about 20mins but i've been going to sleep at about 1:30am every day.
Usually on school nights it takes 1-2hours - very annoying. I used to go to sleep in the afternoon after school because i could literally fall asleep then in about 10mins, but it couldn't sleep in the evening then.

5-10 minutes tbh And if it takes me over 30 minutes to get to sleep one night, and i happen to tell my friends the next day, they always go mad at me for 'moaning', because they all take over an hour to get asleep

1-2 hours on a good night.

Some nights it takes me up to 4.

Sometimes I kind of drift in and out of sleep all night.

usually about an hour. I used to have terrible insomnia, and I just wouldn't fall asleep at all until I knocked myself out at the point of exhaustion with strong drugs.

I read somewhere that on average it takes people 7 minutes to fall asleep. 7 minutes, I wish

I don't get what you're meant to think about once you go to bed. I find it is simply impossible to think about nothing, i always end up thinking about the plan for tomorrow or something which i don't need to think about.

Within the past year or two, I've slept so much better, getting to sleep within the hour, usually half an hour or less. I can't believe it, seeing as a couple of years ago it would have taken me at least an hour.

Usually about 5 minutes. A bad night is about 30 mins and once every few months It'll take me 4 or 5 hours.

If I've been busy in a day I'll have no problems in getting to sleep, which I really appreciate because when I was 13ish I had bad sleeping problems. I couldn't sleep for hours every night. It was exhausting and I'm glad I got over it... I have certain little exercises I can do to help myself sleep too

Usually between an hour and two hours (though when I've had a few drinks I can get to sleep quite easily). Some nights it takes longer, and every few weeks I have a night when I go to bed and just toss and turn all night without being able to get to sleep for hours, sometimes not at all on these occasions.

Once I do get to sleep I am also rather a light sleeper - I can get woken up by all too much and then can't get back to sleep - which is a little odd as I tend to need some background noise, such as a radio on quietly, to get to sleep in the first place.

usually about 2 hours, four at the worst. even when i'm exhausted so i can't even walk it will be about an hour- i'll just lie there.
only less than half an hour if i'm sleeping with someone else, idk, smething about having another person close is very comforting for me.
most otc "sleep aids" don't work, i had tablets that didn't affect my sleep cycle/pattern/teva from a doctor once which were good when it wa real bad(like 4+ hours)

i have night terros if that has any relevance. i only have them real bad once or twice every couple of months since i turned 12/13(17 now), more if i'm quite stressed, i have a sort of mini one a few times a month :/

Well, the moment I think "ok, time to sleep", I'm gone in seconds (although I obvlously can't be sure, because who knows when sleep starts and ends?). And I'm very grateful for that. Although it's not the best of attributes when one has a girl lying next to you.

Depends, of course. School nights, it takes me about 20 minutes I suppose. Days like yesterday, where I had a good sleep the night before and then done nothing all day, it takes about an hour to sleep.

People who get to sleep in a few minutes - are you sure you're getting enough sleep?
