I get that too... I've been told I have a "really stupid voice for an intelligent person" and that my voice is "whiney but sweet". I'm from London/ Essex and have an Essex twang to my voice and also when I'm not making a conscious effort I say "bo--le" and wa-er" and miss out ts in water etc. No one has ever really commented on that much before though, but at my new work one of the guys who isn't English is obsessed with it and goes on about it all the time... And he tells me how to talk properly, not accepting my arguements of it being my colloquial dialect!

Saying that a lot of people think I'm from Oz or New Zealand.

Yeah errrr, basically ignore what your boss says. It's your voice, don't change for anyone unless you want to.

so yeah, im annoyed. my boss laughed at me today and said i had a stupid voice. hes a new boss, only temping, but it made me self concious concidering i serve people.

i apparently do have an unusual voice, it sounds younger than i actually am and its quite posh sounding. its also quite quiet when i speak.

but still, even if it is a funny voice, you dont expect to your boss to say it to you!

so from now on i am looking to change how i speak, i did find myself talking in a deeper voice after he said it, but how can i change my voice?

    thanks
To be honest, never ever heard a girl with a stupid voice.
